Ours are solitary and also territorial. Most gardens have a Robin all year round, but they do not like other Robins coming into their garden once they take possession of it. When you are working in the garden they will stand a few feet away watching in case you dig up some worms, They can become quite tame and even eat bread from your hand.Rosemaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03814070177137076757noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208458117818248970.post-87903188104342915552012-11-07T17:27:17.761-05:002012-11-07T17:27:17.761-05:00Oh how cute! They were thick in our persimmon trees, eating persimmons and doing their robin calls. Most of them, probably 60 or more, were in the trees. And several more were darting around pulling worms out of the ground. The ground was damp that day. I tried once to get pictures of them in the persimmon tree, as their bellies were the same color as the persimmons. It was a colorful sight. But when I came out with the camera, they all lifted off. I felt bad since they had been enjoying themselves so much. Kind of like me at the Thanksgiving table, until someone pulls out a camera. There were also a lot of little snowbirds in the group. We hadn't seen robins since they got their nestlings raised. It was too hot and dry around here this summer. I was happy to see them again. Apparently, the flock has flown on to wherever they go in winter, as I have not seen a single one yesterday or today. susie @ persimmon moon cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653330247272673990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208458117818248970.post-40543205707823127452012-11-07T15:09:26.601-05:002012-11-07T15:09:26.601-05:00Did you skip over winter down in your parts and he...Did you skip over winter down in your parts and head right into spring?!
