I used the gel and then I just started sopping water on the walls. It was the biggest mess. I tracked little tiny pieces of wallpaper through the house. It tore the top layer off our walls, too and I have places that are bad still on the walls. My first paint treatment was a sponged faux finish so the bad spots wouldn't show, but I got tired of that finish last year and painted it solid in there. It is o.k. if you don't look too hard at the walls. No wonder you enjoy it so!
I'm with you with the wallpaper. I'm sure you are using the wallpaper scorers that you roll over the wall to let the stripper soak in. I think we've all had the OLD WALLPAPER BLUES at one time or other in our lives...I was born in an old Victorian that my Dad was born in too, "AND OHHHH the wallpaper!" Many generations of it, AND we KNEW the culprits because we were the ONLY family to ever live in the house since it was BUILT! Layer and Layer and Layers of that stuff. My POOR POOR brother grew up in a bedroom of "Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle", till he got married and moved OUT! hahaha, TRY that for busting a young guys ego... Oh and then there was the 60s&70s when we could all escape it BY "PANELING" everywhere!!! Ugh, Oh Yes I FEEL your pain!!! Steaming works good... We used to soak it all down with vinegar and water too... I sure wish I had a simple solution for you, but all I can say is "Elbow Grease", and "MAYBE so SWEETHEART FRIENDS"!!! PLEASE take LOTS of breaks!!!
Hugs to you Sweetie,
DonnaDonna@Conghaile Cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10981329702564659603noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-208458117818248970.post-79463880200281241402010-12-30T14:18:53.093-05:002010-12-30T14:18:53.093-05:00You are a better woman that I Olive...I think I wo...You are a better woman that I Olive...I think I would have just painted over the paper!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00728645243327906117noreply@blogger.com
