I do not know if I find sacred objects or if they find me.
No matter. I saw this praying Mary and just about passed her by
and then saw that the base said "T0 MOTHER" and I had to bring her home
to stand with the other Mary's on the three drawer chest.
to stand with the other Mary's on the three drawer chest.
Sunday is Mothers Day.
My mother is gone and we have no plans but this Mary touched me in some way.
She has a lovely face.
Having a little blue in my all white color palette, on that table, will not hurt at all.
This praying man came from the same moving sale.
He was actually not for sale but I asked if I could see him and the owner said I could buy him.
One dollar for both (fifty cents each).
Incredible.

Your praying Mary looks good there. In this neck of the woods, at least when I was growing up, it was not uncommon to find 'Mary in the bathtub' in backyards here and there. I'm sure it wasn't supposed to look like a bathtub on end, but it certainly did to a little girl.
ReplyDeleteSo many treasures found while thrifting!

The praying man? He is in many pictures generally praying over a meal of bread and (soup?). I have mine hanging on the wall space above the kitchen table between the two windows.
ReplyDeleteOur man is studying some papers. The Bible maybe?
DeleteI really like this particular praying man - he is different from many that I have seen.
