Our kitchen island is the heart of our small kitchen.
It's filled with trasnferware.
It could stand to be thinned out but not today or even next month.
Gremmie dines on top of the island and that way her food is usually safe from Shelley.
The Maxine nutcracker cheers me no end.
I found her in an antiques booth a long time ago.
I hope you are enjoying the beauty of Christmas.

ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful. I love the way the light shines on your transferware.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks perfect. Save yourself some work! It looks great just like it is!
ReplyDeleteLove the Christmas Tree perched on top of the scales. Gremmie's worked out the best place to be too.
ReplyDeleteI just love your kitchen island all decked out for Christmas Olive... Hello Kitty!... your mama says you have been a naughty kitty?... so has Tessy been a naughty doggie... sure has made a difference in where I put my decorations!... Tessy thinks everything is hers!... she tries to snatch my elves and run with them... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love that island...it's just so handy. The tree is too cute. I need one like that. I laughed when I read that Maxine was a nut cracker..no kidding. LOL. Your cat probably laughs at the dog while she's up on the island. Hope you are doing well , wishing you and Joe a great weekend. xoxo,Susie

This is so lovely Olive! I love seeing kitty enjoying her dinner there on that beautiful island in the sun.
ReplyDeleteI have been reading the posts I have missed here and have to say that your big wooden star is AWESOME! I love how bright and beautiful your living room looks for Christmas. I enjoyed going about in the rain looking at the lovely homes you shared and then that cool old log cabin in your friends back yard. What a great visit this has been.
Thank you for your sweet words that you left for me on my 'woodsy' post :))))
sending hugs...
I LOVE IT ALL!!! So pretty Olive!
ReplyDeleteStill love the Home Made Island
ReplyDeleteand you little kitty Germinne looks like she likes the island also . And of course we love Maxine , she tells it like it is LOL
this is such a great piece, it's not the time of year to talk about "thinning" anything!!
ReplyDeleteMy mother collected pitchers. Her little cow pitcher is still in the barrister bookcase.
ReplyDeleteLove your kitchen island. Wish I had room for one in my kitchen, but it's a small eat-in kitchen so only room for a table and chairs.
ReplyDeleteYour island is such a wonderful focal point in your kitchen, Olive! Love the vintage scale with the Christmas tree on top. That nutcracker would put a smile on my face every day too.

Don't go "thinning" out that transfer ware. It looks wonderful as does everything in your charming kitchen. Happy Holidays………Sarah
ReplyDeleteLove your transfer-ware just the way it is. Your island looks so festive and there's that Gremmie...love her, too.
ReplyDeleteMaxine is perfect . . . what fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive. Lovely photos as always. I love that little winking own! I have a pair of scales just like that (only a different colour) and I love how you have put the tree on top of them! I am now going to rush to the cupboard and get mine out and do something similar. Thanks for the idea. Yes, I am very much in the Christmas spirit.; I just love this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteI love your island, you took a great spot and transformed it....Love the detail on your island and the transferware!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty as always. When I see photos of your island, I always think there is a good smell in there too. Like hot cider or pie.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very happy Christmas to you dear! I love all your decorations! xx
ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeleteyour island is so Christmassy! It's perfect just the way it is, no need to change anything!
Rebecca
I like your kitchen island. The dishes look pretty displayed on the shelves. The tree on the scale is a cute addition.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive! I love the little tree on the scale with Gremmie as it's guardian. I've always admired your island and it looks just perfect for the season right now. I know you are getting excited to have CC back soon! Ann
ReplyDeleteI don't think it needs to be thinned out at all, so take you time doing it!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Can you thin out transferware? : ) I think more is better in that area! Love that Maxine nutcracker. I love the cards that feature her.
ReplyDeleteI just love your little tree on the scale...they make the best display stands! Thanks so much for stopping by! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love the tree on the scale too. I may have to borrow that idea.
ReplyDeleteGremmie is hoping Santa will forgive all her transgressions and bring her something special under the tree! Love how you styled the tree and scale.
ReplyDeleteI love your little kitchen tree...come over and see my non-traditional dining room tree....TURQUOISE...hahhaa....gotta love it.
ReplyDeleteBTW...I love your pretty island.
The nutcracker is hysterical! It adds a fun touch to your display of pretty things. Oh to have a kitchen large enough to house an island.
ReplyDelete-Karen
Yes, not today and not next month! It's wonderful just as it is! I love every piece on it and in it! And the little Christmas tree perched on top of the scales.
ReplyDeleteI love your Maxine Nutcracker!! I want to be just like her when I grow up!!
ReplyDeleteLovely decorations and neat the way you have your Island set up!!
Merry Christmas!
Love your island and all of the transferware too! I miss my large kitchen with island now since I have a smaller kitchen. Love those wreaths in the windows too! Did you make them?
ReplyDeleteThe wreaths are from Big Lots a few years ago. I am not crafty.
DeleteYour two pound tree is fantastic. Very cute idea!
ReplyDeleteOlive, I have kitchen island envy every time I see yours! The pic of your kitty crouching ready to pouch cracks me up! Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to Shelley & Gremmie :)
