Pumpkin Front Door

Happy Friday

Leslie Ann from Fairhope Supply Co. said you could see my
turquoise bike from Kansas.
Well here is my pumpkin door.

Can it be seen from Kansas too?

Not only did I use a spray can of paint (on the bike) I actually used
a paint brush and painted two doors.
I realize it is a lot to take in.
Sit down if you must.

There are orange/pumpkin tones in our stone.

While Joe was recovering from his surgery we had the house professionally washed.
Prior to that we had a new roof installed.
We have been busy at home maintenance.

The paint is Valspar's Roasted Squash.

Painted Bike

It's been done umpteen times.
I still find a painted bike with a basket of flowers charming.
Sometimes, when motivated, Olive can use a spray paint can my lovelies.

I have had this bike for years. I paid $5 at a garage sale for it.
The tricky part was finding the bike basket.
However I have brilliant friends in high high places.

Baskets can be found online on Etsy and eBay but can be a tad pricey.
Vintage bikes left unpainted are equally charming.
One would disappear in our trees though.

Joe and I placed the bike behind our bird feeder.
It can be seen from our kitchen window.
It's all about our view.

Yes, I am going bold with color.
Wait till you see my front door.

Pottery Barn Outlet Fall

Pottery Barn Outlet last weekend was all decked out for fall.
Pumpkins orange and mercury glass were plentiful.

Lots of images ahead.
Go get a drink and drink in the PB.

This rug is gorgeous.

Baskets in all shapes and sizes.

The back of the store is chock full of furniture and has a wall of rugs.
I wanted this leather chair while Joe objected to its $899 price tag.
 He could not be convinced.
There would have been a %20 discount from the outlet mall.

I will find a leather chair.
Yes I will.

My last Pottery Barn Outlet post from May is here.

Broome Closet Booths {CeCe Caldwell Visits}

Hello friends.

The Broome Closet booths at Ridge Antiques
in Ridge Spring, South Carolina have been more exciting than usual.

The French gentlemen's chest above, painted by Beth, with CeCe Caldwell paint sold to an unexpected person.

CeCe Caldwell came into the shop and bought it.
She also purchased other furniture pieces from us and throughout the store.
She is taking them back to Arizona where she has a store.
Beth and I were quite happy about that.

Edit: Beth tells me the French gentlemen's chest is painted in Young Kansas Wheat.

The twig wreaths are handmade by my brother in law from his Georgia creek vines.

We have a good bit of transferware.
We love it.
Don't you?

Our garden booth has many fall items.
We love pumpkins.
Don't you?

We are  restocking the booths today and tomorrow.
The Ridge Spring merchants are having a sidewalk sale on Saturday.

We truly appreciate all our customers.
It is always thrilling to have sales.

Thank you all for your many well wishes for Joe.
 He returned to work yesterday.

Hummingbirds

We have quite the crew of hummingbirds this summer.
They have consumed 5 pounds of sugar in their homemade nectar.

This feeder has nectar in it still.
The hummers have been draining our four feeders rapidly because of our intense summer heat. Basically the plants, grass, and we ourselves are wilting.

Hummingbird Nectar
1 Cup white sugar
4 Cups water

Boil for two minutes then cool completely.
It is important not to skip this step as it helps
prevent bacterial growth in a high sugar solution.
Keep unused solution in the refrigerator.

Our hummers will fly to South America soon.
They will return on April 1st next year.

In Olive Out news Joe is humming along too after his hip replacement.
He is walking without a cane and now driving.

I cannot say how much blogging I will be doing in the future.
I have gotten many things accomplished whilst disconnected
from the web BUT I have missed all of you terribly.

I made jewelry from vintage pieces of jewelry, thrifted here and there, painted two doors, cooked up a storm, cleaned a horrible storage room, played with a fat cat, played with my dog, sent CC off to school, and cared for my sweet man.
That is merely the tip of my enormous list.
