We have been ever so slowly picking up a vintage suitcase here and there.
So we can...
Stack them...yay boy.
Found the Samsonite one, on the bottom, last Saturday at an estate sale.
The middle one, my favorite, is not flat sided and makes the stack tilt.
David is keeping a close watch on them for us.

I absolutely adore vintage luggage, and that little set looks lovely stacked on top of one another. Great finds Olive - as usual.
ReplyDeleteI like the stack of suitcases. I used to have one just like the top one only it was bigger. I had the train case too. Unfortunately I got rid of them years ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your nice comments and for following me.
Fabulous! I am still looking for my first one!
ReplyDeleteIs that my dad's Samsonite on the bottom? 1953? Good find.
ReplyDeleteThey look fabulous Olive!... oh how I wish I had my mama's old suitcases... I hope someone somewhere has them now and is enjoying them like you are your finds... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love old cases too. Something about how travel was fun way back when. I have seen cases painted before . They look charming, but if it's good leather I would not paint it. Smiles, xo, Susie(She Junks)
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky you find them Olive. They are great looking and I love them stacked!
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage luggage, Olive!...Christine
ReplyDeleteLove the suitcases, Olive!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple I made into beds for my dogs & cats!
I found one recently that looks like a huge hat box, very fun!

Suitcases make such great storage. You have some nice ones there. Love that blue color.

ReplyDeleteLove your suitcases, Olive...the middle one is a really unusual shape!
ReplyDeleteI love suitcases...I have a set of three vintage alligator faux skin Samsonite from my husband's grandma which I've never photographed they are super cool and very tiny. I have three or four blue ones under the sewing table (one looks like the twin to your top suitcase). Then there are three under a table in the living room for the girls coloring supplies. I also have several hard toiletry ones around the house holding stuff....
ReplyDeleteJust to say, I like your suitcases. :)
ReplyDeleteOh just remembered - there are like six or so of them in Kira's closet holding things like toy food, toy animals, train bits, etc. Wow - I think I've got a problem.
ReplyDeleteI love your stack of olden suitcases. Things like this make a room YOURS, I think. I THINK I still have my daddy's suitcase in the attic. I had forgotten...need to ck it out. Thanks for the reminder, Olive.
ReplyDeletethey look great and I am sure good for storage!

ReplyDeleteI am so wanting a collection myself. I think they make wonderful places to hide things up and out of the way for safe keeping!

How are you doing, Olive? I hope that my note finds you and your honey both doing well! Just wanted to stop by to say hello. My blogging and visiting has been so sporatic but I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things!
Thank you for sharing your neat suitcases with us!
Warmest spring wishes,

I just love the way old suitcases looked stacked!Yours are just perfect there! Have you seen that one (don't remember where) that has them stacked all the way to the ceiling? Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with us, I've gotta go get more suitcases!!!
Hugs,
Patti
I'm collecting a few like you, and wish mine were flat so they stacked better! They're not rounded, but have a slight angle to them. Still, it's great to have character and storage in one piece!
