I found an olive bucket yesterday.
Thanks to Cindy at Beaux R'eves blog.
Cindy blogged that she found one at Tuesday Morning.
We live in entirely different parts of the country.
Nevertheless there were three in the store (all rusty).
They were labeled vintage.
I treated mine with bees wax.
Mine has writing, a label I suppose, on both sides.
I also placed my rusty milking bucket beside it to let you get
some idea of the size of the olive bucket.
It is quite large and I am glad I dry my own hydrangeas
and had enough of them.
I paid 49.99 (there goes the mums for the patio) for it which is a lot
for me but the last time I saw one it was $60.00 here.
Thanks for your post Cindy.

ReplyDeleteOlive! I'm so happy that you found one. It looks lovey with your hydrangeas and I like the cool writing that is on the side. Mine doesn't have that. The beeswax is a good tip. Off to estate sales tomorrow!

Now I'm jealous of both you and Cindy! We don't have that store in Canada. It looks great paired with the milk bucket! ~ Maureen

The mums can wait *winks* Oh about the creepy wig, it's just some kind of yarn floss so hopefully not too creepy after all? Vanna

So glad that you found an old olive bucket! I remember seeing them at Tuesday Morning too. I would've bought one if I hadn't already found one. I actually wouldn't mind having another one too. But....$50 is alot for an extra one. I love the label on yours. It's neat to see how everyone's is slightly different.
ReplyDeleteArgh - the web ate my comment. I am happy for you to have an olive bucket - it is something you will enjoy for years to come, I am sure.

ReplyDeleteI guess I should google instagram and find out what it is. Never did get on the Pinterest thing. Wait, I am on Pinterest, just never did anything with it.
I truly had never heard of olive buckets until I started blogging. That was before when I didn't know all that I was missing out on.
ReplyDeleteThat's a store I rarely get to since it's miles across town. I need to check it more often... lovely bucket!
ReplyDeleteI have not idea what an olive bucket is all about, but delighted you have one. Now I'm going to look them up and learn something.
ReplyDeleteWhen I can do a little more than hobble, I must go to Tuesday Morning. I've found some real gems there.
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I'd love to have one of these! It's beautiful with the hydrangea!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there was such a thing as an Olive Bucket, but here it is. What a wonderful find. I think you did great with the price (not that I know anything about it), but when something is meaningful, you can't always put a price on it. I love the texture of it and the writing and of course, the hydrangeas! Ann
ReplyDeletewoohoo.....I have plans to go to Tuesday Morning Saturday morning to get a dog ramp. I'll surely look for the olive bucket. Are they really vintage? Can't wait to check it out~ Love the photo you took of yours Olive. xoxo

Think I'll be stopping by Tuesday Mornings...soon! Wonder if Big Lots would even have a knock off of them? I'm all for knock offs! Yours is beautiful!!! Try Lowe's for some marked down mums...that's what I do for pansies and mums...they look good as long as they need to usually. Hope you are enjoying our nice weather! Best, Vicki
