How about having a mounted Longhorn on your wall?
Joe and I chased this truck on Sunday last, in our Mini Coop, and I snapped this image while we were both moving.
Craziness.
Needless to say the mounted Longhorn is wider than our Mini should it have been purchased by us. Heavens, it is wider than our stone fireplace.
We have some small deer antlers. Do you like antlers of any kind?
may joy and peace surround you
Olive
No. Don`t understand the appeal at all; do you?

Well, I have the big old deer head in my living room (not by my choice) and I have a few sets of faux antlers. Those ones were HUGE though! Looks like they would be dangerous if the guy got in a car accident. Poke right through your windshield.
ReplyDeleteWow - those are some serious antlers! Linda
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of antlers. Deer shed their antlers, so it I just happened on some in the woods, that would be one thing. If the antlers were available because an animal had been killed or slaughtered....NO. What can I say? I'm a vegetarian!

Olive,
ReplyDeleteThose are humungous, and a little scary! I may be the odd man(or woman) out here, but I do like antlers. My daughter's boyfriend brought me some that he found in the woods. They are on my coffee table in a large bowl with pinecones during the winter, I love the way they look, the color and the curves, very rustic.
Rebecca
Not really but I think those would have looked awesome on the front of your Coop! Ann
ReplyDeleteI like that scene in the film where Dudley Moore looks at a trophy and asks where the arse-end is!
ReplyDeleteThey are not exactly my cup of tea. but I've seen the smaller ones used in decor and it looks alright, just nothing I'd ever aspire to.

Wow! That's a big one! I would rather have a cute little one...Christine
ReplyDeleteI love antlers...as long as they are shed...although having said that I wonder why since I having nothing against hunting for food.
ReplyDeleteI passed up a nice set a few months ago at a flea market....wish I had picked them up.
The only antlers I like are those growing out of the head of a live animal. I think it's terrible for anyone to display them as if it's some badge of honor that they killed an animal.
ReplyDeleteFunny story, but not seeing the appeal in having them hanging in my family room!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
whoa baby, those are some big suckers! I like my antlers a teensy bit more petite! xoxo
ReplyDeleteWell, thank heavens you didn't catch up with those! I just don't get the interest in deer antlers for decor - at all.
ReplyDeleteNo I don't get the antler attraction...but hey I live in IL, in Texas I might feel different?
ReplyDeleteOh my, I bet that was a shock to see riding down the road! LOL!
ReplyDeleteDon't have any antlers mounted in my home, but I think they look really nice in others! :)
cool -but very weird!
ReplyDeleteyes, I like antlers. especially as they are naturally shed. fun post....
Karen
Down here in Texas, those size antlers come standard as hood ornaments...lol!
ReplyDeleteExcuse me, but is the face still attached? No thank you!
I'll use the little ones for props, but that's about it.
Deb
YOU are just tooooo much Olive!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the 1st year I'm liking antlers just laying in a basket of "Holiday Greens"...
Hugs - Jeanine Burkhardt
Bet that's a man thing :):) no matter how small the wall, they will hang that. my son-in-law has a deer head...eewwe. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteI have a single antler from a caribou. Got it in Alaska. It's a shed antler from a female. It sits in a display.
ReplyDeleteThis photo is too funny.
ReplyDeleteWe have a longhorn set like that in our shop...but we are ranhers so it makes sense! haha
