Adjusting the gallery wall oil paintings, prints, and frames has been
an off and on summer passion.
Not that I measure.
Joe would use a level and a ruler.
Every picture or painting is a thrifty find save for the central white matted one.
The Talented B and I found the alabaster lamp in a junk shop.
I had no cash and she sweetly paid for it.
It is a good idea to have cash on you while thrifting.
I have a more-is-more-style.
I am not finished with the gallery wall or corner.
It has gaps.
I would like a pair of small oil paintings inside the vintage rectangular frame.
I am always looking for old oval frames.
This is the other side of the corner and it needs more something.
That is CC at age three.
In Olive Out news I am doing fine after the procedure yesterday.
I am staying in the house and being entertained by Gremmie and Shelley.
Thank you, my peeps, for your comments and emails.

I love the 'more is more style.' Me too! :-))
ReplyDeleteI also like pictures with a more random look instead of symmetry or everything in a row. Looks good!
Glad your procedure went well...I am a more is more too!!
ReplyDeleteDear Joe: One of life's finer occupations is straightening a picture on the way by. Keep your pencils and rulers to yourself.
ReplyDeleteLovely, by the way.
You did a great job on your gallery wall! I love the long shot of that area. I hope you'll feel well soon, Olive.
ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeletehope you're feeling ok! The wall looks great, I never measure either! Unfortunately for me that sometimes means a few more holes in the wall but Oh Well!!
Rebecca
Hi Olive. Glad your procedure went well and praying for you to feel great! I love your wall and the vignette on the table.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia :0
Olive, I love the way you put everything together on your gallery wall. So glad you got through your procedure and you are in my prayers too. I've just read through all the pages of your blog again. Thank you for sharing your story and your life. You are very special.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Love seeing the "inside" of Olive Out.
ReplyDeleteWhy have one layer when five layers are much more entertaining? Gremmie and Shelley are not featured on the gallery wall yet. Love the one of CC.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely "more is more". I try not to be, but I can't help myself! Sometimes I look around and think it looks like someone's shop in here. I love it in the evening when the lamps are on. But sometimes in the light of day, I just think about how MANY items I have around! Oh well...such is life. Glad you are doing well. Love your gallery wall.
ReplyDeleteYour gallery wall is wonderful!! I'm cracking up that you said you are a "more is more" girl because I just said I'm a "less is more" girl. I want to be more like you!!! Our home always looks unfinished because of my unwillingness to keep adding. In fact, when I try to add....I don't have anything to do it with. It requires a shopping trip. I'm going to work on that. You are a great example!
ReplyDeleteI love a more is more style...makes a house a home in my book! Your gallery wall looks FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteI was going to be a smart butt and ask if you noticed that the picture had fallen out of your top frame, but it seems you already are on the lookout for something for it. I love your alabaster lamp. I keep eyeing one of those at the antique store, but it's not at my thrifty price level, so it is probably going to be sitting there for a while. Glad your feeling better today. Don't let the animals run you ragged.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wall Olive....you have done such a good job. I love everything you collect. I think we may be twins..wink, wink...
ReplyDeleteglad your procedure went well..
Love, Mona
Each one is gorgeous of it's own and together they look wonderful. I really like the two oval ones.. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteOlive, I love all your thrifted art work, that is the best kind.
ReplyDeleteI love how that wall looks! I love gallery walls. I think they're so interesting to look at. You did a great job on yours. You will enjoy changing it up from time to time I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are doing well, Olive. Let those fur-faces make you feel better. Love your gallery. I never measure either, sometimes I have some happy accidents that way. Love the sweet picture of CC, it's the perfect touch amongst the others. Ann
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're doing well! You mean we're to measure and plan when we create gallery walls? I guess if I did that, there wouldn't be so many holes in my wall. :-)
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
I love gallery walls and yours is styled great. I don't measure either and hubby does.
ReplyDeleteHappy all is well with you . . . Love the CC picture . . .
ReplyDeleteLove the styling, Olive! I've been wrangling with the Headmaster for years about hanging family pictures. While I wait for him to 'see the light', the photographs languish in the basement. Would you kindly come up to Wisconsin and set him straight? Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWasn't CC a total snuggy bunny at three! The gallery wall looks great but, a gallery is never really done. There is always one more painting begging to come home with you! Glad all is well and you have such excellent company.
ReplyDeleteHey Miss Olive; Glad to hear that everything went well for you. Many Prayers and Well Wishes are for you, Joe and CC. Please Take Care!!!
ReplyDeleteAll of your Photos are Beautiful as usual.
Dear Olive,
ReplyDeleteFirst and most importantly, I am so pleased that you are doing well after your surgery .... make sure that you're putting your feet up and having a good rest .... very important !!
I love your wall of pictures and, brilliant that you found most of them at flea markets. I always think that those flea market finds are so much better than buying something new from a shop. They all have their own story to tell.
Lots of love to you Olive and I wish you a very speedy recovery .... I'm sure that you will be back to your fighting fit self in no time. XXXX
Very pretty gallery. It takes vision to create with thrift finds like you do.
ReplyDeleteI just love gallery walls. Way more interesting than under decorated walls.
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see my daughter's shower, Olive! Carter really is a little hoot! :)
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Olive, My daughters will probably have a huge bonfire when I pass...they will not want to sort through my junk(treasures) LOL. I have bought some local artists pieces, I have them on a wall together.Enjoy your weekend. xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteLove the gallery wall, Olive! Feel better, my friend.

Awesome gallery wall!! I know what it's like trying to keep your frames straight!! I have a wall of family antique photos I call - The Wall of the Dead!! My Mom takes great pride that she is the only living person up there in her's and Dad's wedding photo. but everytime someone goes in or out of the garage door - the wall shakes and everyone gets tipsy!! I quit straightning them all up unless someone is coming over!!
ReplyDeleteInteresting the white vase on a vase in the dome!! hOpe they are glued together!!
Glad you are feeling okay! I love this look...and am a big fan of alabaster lamps, too!
ReplyDeleteYour house is beautiful...love the gallery wall. Haven't been on blogs since last week so just now read about your surgery. Hope you're OK and that you're healing well!
