Functional Beautiful Secretary

Don't you think it is serendipitous when beauty is matched by functionality?
That is what we have got in this secretary I bought from my friend The Talented B.
She and her husband painted it with Valspar's Linen paint.

Tear drop pulls attract me every time.
Ball and claw feet get me too.

We will be organizing our bills and insurance papers in this piece.
I knew it would fit perfectly by our front door and it does.

  2. Hope you are well, sorry it has been so long since I have felt up to commenting. I love this piece of furniture which we Brits call a bureau. :)

  3. Don't know how folks live without some flat surface inside the front door. Three drawers are icing on the cake. I have to routinely go through the chest at our front door and pitch my brother-in-law's tools, however. Put the hammer away when you're done, for crying out loud!

  5. This is a great find and functional too! It fits perfectly by the front door. I have a piece similar except it has one draw and two doors with shelves. It sits by my front door too. It has been in the family for years and I just can't bring myself to paint it.

  15. It's just perfect. I've got one exactly the same, which used to belong to my mum. It's still in the walnut wood, but I am going to strip it down and paint it. It looks lovely where you have positioned it.

  22. I love it! It is such a great size and has a lot of character for a small piece. Something like that would fit in perfectly here, given our smaller accommodations. : )

  23. That is a beautiful piece! I didn't know the pulls were called tear drop pulls. I learned something new! Isn't there something about little cubbyholes too that makes it so dear? I love that.
