A Rose Metaphor

The first blooms.

Straight out of the camera except for sharpening.

We must enjoy these Knockout Roses now. The deer will likely eat them during the night.

It is sort of a metaphor for life " live in the moment" kind of rose.

I have left the yellow house and the flower garden and I am back at the old house with Joe.

The flower garden is at the mercy of the elements and the critters.

  10. I love knock out roses! Especially the pink ones! I have over 20 in my back yard and they are in their full glory right now...I have a rare strand of this 'dear' creature you talk about...she has two legs with blonde hair and green eyes..she loves picking the petals off the roses and playing with them! lol But even just a short glimpse of those beautiful roses is worth seeing...beautiful pic girl...Happy Easter...Picket

  11. Oh roses blooming already!!!
My hubby went Walmart here last week and since our first safe planting date is After Mother's day we have not plants yet.

He went to a florist / greenhouse and said he was desperate for his wife's sanity to get something to plant preferably pansies as they will go through cold snap if we have one. They don't open till this next weekend but felt sorry for him and let him go in and get some six packs! $4.00 a six pack!!! He said he knew I wouldn't have bought them at that price but that I needed them so they were my little (expensive) love gift - gotta love him!

  13. Beautiful rose! The buds are all forming on ours over here in England. June is the very best month for roses, and I love them, especially the old-fashioned English roses.

  17. Ah yes, so beautiful! I should kick "her" out the door to photograph the two that are blooming. Of course, it did rain today and probably will tomorrow....so I guess I will just have to kick "her" out the door during the next "moment". Very good thought indeed - live in the moment....now where is "she"....I need a snack to celebrate the moment.....

    Purrs!
