Thanks bunches to all of you who expressed concern for us.
The strong storm system that came through the South was milder by the time it came here. More than two hundred people lost their lives in the tornadoes and flooding.
I have been awake off and on since the wee hours of the morning and then I cooked {a lot} to work off my nervous energy from all that lightning. Joe is at work and says the roads are in good shape and he has not come across any downed trees.
My flower garden did get watered {2.5 inches}.

We are thinking and praying for those who have lost loved ones and their homes in this vast and powerful storm system.

So glad to hear you are safe....but I'm sure it was a very scary night! All affected are in my thoughts and prayers. You are probably going to need a nap soon, aren't you? :)
ReplyDeleteIt said on the BBC news that it was the worst storms you have had for 40 years! Thank goodness you and Joe are safe and sound. That's an unusual photo you have as your blog header now!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are OK. I saw those pictures on the morning news and just felt so bad for all those people!
ReplyDeleteGlad you and your family are safe Olive... my prayers go out to all... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteIt is a somber day in Alabama and all over really. The death toll continues to climb as victims are recovered. I am hearing that they have requested no volunteers come for a couple of days while they are in search and rescue mode. The devastation is unimaginable. So glad that you were spared.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive! I'm so glad you're safe! These storms have been so terrible! I have family in Fort Payne, Alabama and they were hit and a couple of distant cousins have lost their lives! Just terrible.
ReplyDeleteIt's comforting seeing your precious little blooms. We don't understand why all of this happens but I know God is in control.
Blessings,
Shelia ;)
Olive - I've not heard the news so didn't know about the storm, So glad that you are both safe. It sounds horrific!
ReplyDeleteOlive so glad to hear you are safe. How tragic that so many have died from these awful storms. Hope you get some good rest tonight and that calmer days are ahead. Ann
ReplyDeleteOlive, we were spared, too. Only a little rain here and wind. Such devastation everywhere. It was north and south of us on the radar and we were in the clear. We stayed up till 1:30 to see if all was safe to go to sleep.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is crazy. It was windy here today in Toronto and a massive tree fell on my neighbors bhouse shattering the roof and windows. She was home with her child, but was unharmed and very shaken.
ReplyDeleteI am gald you guys are ok. Prayers to all those who have lost lives and loved ones in this recent bad weather.
We were awake from 2am on when that system came through, scary but it had lost some it's steam by the time it got here. The devastation I've seen on TV boggles the mind. Glad you were safe & thinking about those with damage from the tornadoes~
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are safe and well. So many were not so lucky. Breaks my heart.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are safe and sound. My heart goes out to those less fortunate!

So glad to hear you are safe and sound. What terrible storms. My sister had a few trees down but no other damage. This has been such a rough year in the south...first snow and now awful storms. My prayers are with all.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you are both well and sorrowful for those who've lost so much.
ReplyDeleteWhat really terrible storms, so good to know you are safe :)
ReplyDeleteThat's good news, Olive!
ReplyDeleteWe've had lots of flooding here and tornadoes, but were personally unaffected.
