Iris' are so pretty and unique. My great grandmother's yard was filled with these and lilies.

ReplyDeleteOlive, Iris's reproduce so fast, I normally dig up over half mine every year and just throw them into the weeds and next year they are growing in that space. I don't even burry them. I have purple but your yellow are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful. This will be my 2nd year for heirloom irises given to me by a 60+ yr old friend (they were her grandmother's!). Still waiting on mine to bloom, looking forward to it, and will be happy to be at the point of needing to divide and transplant.
ReplyDeleteEvery spring I have iris envy wishing I had remembered to plant some bulbs. Love the bright yellow.
ReplyDeleteIris are so hardy. Mine are in the alley and by the driveway... I never water them. Even in our drought conditions they survive and thrive.
ReplyDeleteI'm just a tad bit jealous of your irises. I got overly aggressive with cutting down my shoots last year and now I think I may have killed half the irises in my beds. Patience is not one of my many virtues.
ReplyDeleteI WANT Irises -- even have a great spot picked out but alas, our big old Husky has decided that is *her* spot. I am conflicted about up rooting her to plant -- maybe she'll pick another spot, Thanks for sharing the beauty!!

They say irises do best in poor growing conditions...seeing is believing. Yellow irises are my favorites. While I love the purple ones the yellow ones remind me of a pop of sun in the garden. Beautiful, Olive! xo Diana
