This is my huge breadboard.
I imagine it is for decorative purposes only
due to it's width and length.
It has to lean against a wall.
It is new but made from an old Hungarian building.
I did pay too much for it.
Rarely do I splurge but when I do I go big.
I bought it at a local store in the county our old house is in.
Buying local is important to me.

I doubted that I would ever find a large breadboard/cheeseboard that I see blogging all the time so I asked my kids for the Pottery Barn round one.
ReplyDeleteFabulous breadboard! Enjoy this wonderful time with CC. My kids come home later this week.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
That would be fabulous for a party! Imagine breads/cheese/fruit all displayed on that breadboard!

ReplyDeleteThat is huge!!! Good purchase though. It's a statement piece.
ReplyDeleteOops, forgot to ad - have fun with CC!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the paddle my Elementary School Principal used to carry around - or at least my interpretation of it!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty. Love the bow.
That would be great for a wine and cheese party with crispy French stick bread, but my eye keeps wandering away from your bread board to that delicious still life painting above.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is difficult to think in terms of the frivolity of Christmas when so many lives have been destroyed forever in Newton. Parents whose hearts will never be mended, and precious young lives lost before they had even reached the starting post.
Now that paddle would get a child's attention! Very pretty-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Maureen! What a great centerpiece for a party! Have fun with C.C.!
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunner!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous piece! Olive that is amazing. I could see using that as my backdrop for a lot of wonderful food photos!

ReplyDeleteThat is huge. I know you mentioned decorative purposes, but I wonder if the maker had something specific in mind. It's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT Olive!!
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Olive, The only other place I have seen such a huge bread board is in Cyprus. The baker places the bread on a similar bread board and puts the bread in an open oven to bake. Yours is a wonderful decorative bread board and the bow is just perfect. Have a lovely evening. Best Wishes Daphne
ReplyDeleteThat is one bread board and a half. Olive have a wonderful special time with your darling daughter
ReplyDeleteOlive, Hug your sweet CC and hold her close. Our children never get to old to need our hugs. I just ran into my oldest daughter at the grocery. We hugged right by the carts.:). I love all my baby girls, and they are catching up to me in age.Shhh. xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. Great for a veggie and fruit tray for a backyard summer BBQ.
ReplyDeleteI probably won't see you before. BTW Miss you!!! Soooo...
Merry Christmas to YOU. (I'm singing.)
Your breadboard would make even a 4 foot sub sandwich look like a feast fit for a king!

ReplyDeleteLove that bread board girl. I am sure you will use it several different ways
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Oh Olive I love this. I nearly died when I saw it leaning on your wall. I just got a gigantic dough bowl that is doing the exact same thing in my living room. I think it might be too big for my dining room table! Maybe it will just stay holding up the wall. Merry Christmas to you and yours...hope it is lovely. ~Ann
ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeletethat sure would hold some huge loaf of bread!! It's fantastic, I can see why you couldn't pass it up, very unique! Looks great leaning against the wall with the bow, very festive!
