Bye Bye Pom Poms

This chenille spread covers our vintage 1960's rattan sofa.
It protects the sofa from Shelley, our German Shepherd, who loves to regally lay on the sofa with all of his eighty pounds.

Evidently the chenille spread needs protection too.
Shelley systematically removes the pom poms and is proud
 of himself for doing so.

This is the opposite corner of the spread almost pompomless.
The theme of my posts this week is Indulging The Fur Babies.

Bye Bye Pom Poms

  3. I have a Lab, Tucker, who removed the tassels from a pillow, and he too thought he had done the right thing. Funny, they just don't understand decor, do they?
    Take care.

  4. I'm kind of impressed with how neatly Shelley has removed those pom poms. He's really living up to his name with that kind of precision!

  5. Good Evenin Olive, Shelley is probably lying down wondering what to do, when he spies your chenille throw.....and those lovely little pom poms are just the perfect thing to play with. Bless his heart.

  7. Silly dog. Now he will have to come up with a new pastime.

  8. I took stock recently and was forced to conclude we put up with more destruction from our animals than we ever suffered from our kids.

  9. Oh goodness! The things we do for our pets. I have to let some things go too because my dog insists on lyng on certain things that don't always hold up as well afterwards. He likes to sleep on top of my pillows. Then you'll be able to tell where all he has been by how they all dip down like they've been squished. I'm always fluffing them back up and getting my rubber brush out to get the dog hair off! Your chenille coverlet will look good with or without the pompoms, I think.

  12. My curtains have - HAD pom poms on the bottom until doggie boy redecorated. Show a cute photo, quick, so we can remember why it is we love them!

  13. Purrhaps Shelley was being a good sibling and removing the pom pom's so that Clovis could better play with them. Purrhaps?

  14. I totally would have done the same thing!! Pets shouldn't have that kind of temptation in front of them - especially on their sofa!! LOL

  19. Better Shelley gets the pom poms and not the couch! No chewing problems here, but the little pup has taken to peeing on the bathroom floor rather than get her dainty little feet cold outside. I guess she picked the right room to do it in!

  20. Oh no, such a pretty spread. That's an easy fix and keeps the sofa clean. I understand, it's hard not to spoil our fur babies.............Hope you have a great weekend.

  21. I don't have pets so I don't know how much I'd let them get away with. Probably as much as anyone else! :)

  22. Pompomless! I love it! Right now we have portable black fencing around our sofa as it's been too cold for our big white lab/Pyrenees mix to stay in his doghouse that is inside the smokehouse as he's been under the weather. So he has a huge bed inside the last two weeks but would rather have the whole sofa so hence the fencing as vacuuming was a never ending story. Did I mention he sheds like crazy? But he is so sweet and loves being a house dog.

  23. Naughty, naughty Shelley! But that is so much better than chewing on your pretty new shoes :)! I love that he has a sofa all to himself, T.T. Rabbit would love that.
    sending hugs your way...

  24. Algie would just love those pom poms too. He has craftily chewed the corners of a pile of books I didn't notice! Oh the joy of loving our pets!! xx

  25. I can relate, sorta like letting a 16 lb. cat sleep on your head... it will be just as pretty pom-less!

  26. I had to chuckle ... I don't do plants or pets well. I guess I love pom poms more. Don't hate me because I'm shallow! *smile*

  27. I know your frustration. Petey has chewed off most of the tassels off the pillows. I finally cut the rest off myself....Good thing I didn't like them anymore:)
