The Starfire Lily is a fascinating plant. I knew it was a starfire lily when I initially wrote this post. I had stargazer reeling around my head and information on starfire on the bar. Thanks to astute readers I stand corrected. It's a bulb you plant partially above the soil line. It grows rapidly. It is in the amaryllis family.

Hi Olive, I’ve seen this plant and had no clue what it was. It’s very beautiful and interesting. I love the color of this one. Thanks for sharing, now I know. Hope your summer is off to a great start.......

Beautiful! It reminds me a little of an allium. Does it smell good?
ReplyDeleteA very unusual lily Olive - I must keep my eyes open for one.
ReplyDeleteI have a Stargazer lily in the garden, but assumed that you had a different name for it. Starfire definitely suits it better - thanks for the update.
DeleteOh how pretty this is and the color.
ReplyDeleteWow!
Aren't they amazing? I'm always so taken with how fast they pop up and bloom. It's almost like overnight.

Very interesting . . . It is the first time I have seen a Stargazer Lily. It looks like the purple/blue Allium. A conversation piece for sure, I am going to look for one!
ReplyDeleteI agree it does look like an allium. I love globe flowers and this is a wonderful color.
ReplyDeleteThat is lovely! What a spectacular and fun blossom. What an amazing Creator - who came up with design after design after beautiful design - to place in this world for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOh, it's lovely! Such delicate, yet big, beauty!

ReplyDeleteThis is the first one of these I've seen - I think. Now I will probably see them everywhere! So pretty and unique. Thanks Olive! Ann
ReplyDeleteI'll never believe another word you say - Hahahahaha!!!!! Like I would know the difference. I thought it was a daisy!
ReplyDeleteYou are such an honest soul. Good for you!
LOL, I understand! I do the same thing. Your starfire lily is gorgeous and new to me. I see so many pretty bulbs out there, but haven't planted many. I think we're on the edge of the hardiness zone for a lot of bulbs and I have to lift them in the fall, and I'm a lazy gardener. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy, wouldn't a field of them be beautiful! Hope yours multiplies for ya.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the name... it's simply a lovely lily. xox
ReplyDeleteSo spectacular! Love it!
