The Peach 23 Yard Sale was something serious my peeps. Question is was it a yard sale or a marathon? It's a little of both and I did not make the finish line. Not even after six and a half hours and thirty miles. How about that? Read more about the sale here.
Carolyn Westbrook's 2012 book for $2.00. I am really drinking in the pages of this book. It is staying home with me and the bust.
Donna {who actually posted over the weekend}and I could have arm wrestled over this triptych. It's a Florentine religious piece and it is staying here for a spell too. I have built a collection of Florentine pieces recently. Repeat after me. Olive Is A Bad Seller. We have acknowledged that and can move on.
Was getting up at 5 A.M. worth it? Was having no coffee {screaming headache} worth it? Was coming home hyped up and exhausted worth it?

I love the bust and the gold mirror and religious piece. I would be a bad seller too.
ReplyDeleteThe triptych was a great find - I have to find out how I can get it away from you! I notice you did not mention the lady who definitely wanted it and kept following you around the seller's area asking about it. It was a delightful day. The mirror is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteShe was a sweet lady. We liked all the same items too. She wanted the French bowl as well.
DeleteYou found some wonderful goodies....love,love,love the mirror!!!! Sounds like so much fun :o)

Good Morning, Olive. I'm sorry to hear you had a headache, but it didn't seem to slow you down on the hunt!

Hugs - Jeanine Burkhardt
Wow! The religious art and the mirror would be worth it ALL! How fabulous...everything! You might as well enjoy it before you send it off for someone else to enjoy. These items are meant to be passed on for years and years! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. I can't believe you got that book for $2.00! I just paid full price a few weeks ago. Dang. You find the best stuff and I need to stop going to cute little expensive shops!
ReplyDeleteOh, deary gracious! What a shopper you are! No coffee? You need an award. Love it all, especially the chippy shelf.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the jackpot Olive!! Awesome finds!
ReplyDeleteYou got some awesome finds! How fun. So what if you want to keep them for yourself. Enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteYou find the best treasures Olive!... wish we had sales like those around here... love that English cottage bowl!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Olive, My, oh, my, what a treasure trove! I love the French bust and the mirror and the bowl and, and, and.... I think you have realised I loved all your finds.
ReplyDeleteThis was certainly worth foregoing the morning coffee, I just wish I had been with you.
Best Wishes
Daphne
See? I was right!! It's people like you that make people like me (who can't get up early) not be able to find good stuff at a garage sale. All the good stuff is gone early! You found some mighty good stuff too. That white hutch looks pretty. I really love the shape of your mirror too. I have an affinity for curvy mirrors. I'm very impressed with your book find too! That's a new book!! Great deal on that for sure!
ReplyDeleteThere are few kinds of happy tired better than a thrifting happy tired! I would certainly keep the sweet French lady! Can you imagine all the ways you could use her at Christmas?
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous. My BFF and I had planed and scheduled the World's Longest Garage sale for a year. On our bucket list. Then I got grandkids and had to sort out a world of stuff that week, instead of driving back to Ohio from Tennessee.. Wonderful finds. Good job.
ReplyDeleteWow. Some awesome finds Olive....is this an annual sale? Glad you had a good time..
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
I'm a bad seller too, so I completely understand. Enjoy them a while and sell them later!
ReplyDeleteLiz
The cream shelf looks interesting. Maybe if you have the rule that if you keep something for a while something else has to go to the booth, then you'll still be able to walk through your living room?
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely, but I cannot understand how anyone can give up a book like that. Great buy for you!
ReplyDeleteWow, you found some beauties! We didn't make it all the way either, it was so hot! We did have a great time though. I'm headed over to read your other post!
ReplyDeleteI'd be a happy camper with the book alone! Great finds that I can't blame you for keeping.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds and the mirror..swoonnnnn!!!!!!!!! I won't sell the mirror, though, lol..
ReplyDeleteFABBY
What wonderful finds! Love that bowl with the cottage on it. So sweet! Glad you had a great shopping day - doesn't that just make you smile to come home with goodies? (Especially things you yourself want to keep).
ReplyDeleteJudy
Olive; You and Donna both found such Wonderful things!!! Please let us all know when this sale is going on earlier next year!!! I definately wish to go to this sale!!!
ReplyDeleteYou really found some Gorgous things!!! I would keep them ALL, also! :-D
A fun haul, I know I would be a bad seller :)
ReplyDeleteOooh, you got some great things! Love the bust, the hutch and the mirror. They would have come home with me, too. I would probably keep them, as well! : ) Thanks so much for your note ~ I'm glad you are enjoying looking through the book.
ReplyDeleteIsn't Carolyn's book a real page turner?
ReplyDeleteGirl...if you're gonna get out there at the crack of dawn, get yourself a to-go cup. That mirror is killer...just hope your headache wasn't.
Deb
Now Olive, those are true treasures !!! I can see why you want to keep them around for a while. xoxo,Susie
