We saw this massive chippy white cabinet at an estate sale on July Fourth in Wrens, Georgia. We arrived about thirty minutes after the start of the sale and it was already sold. I was sick about it.
It has shelves inside and you can see the lovely patina. The price was good too. I apologize for the dark images but every day is a rainy day in Georgia.
The chenille spread had many stains which OxyClean could have handled but I passed on this beauty too.
What did we buy? A sofa for our den. Nothing terribly exciting. Also in the worst room possible to photograph. I will post it later. When my house is clean. When the moon is full on an odd Thursday.

I LOVE all these pieces! Beautiful treasures!
ReplyDeleteOh, my that cabinet would make such great storage. Too bad it was sold. Love the old wicker and the toile cushions. Rain rain go away already!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive! Oh, you saw some gorgeous things! I love the wicker set and the cabinet. But you didn't show us your sofa.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'll be praying for your little tiny one. God is bigger than anything and I claim a miracle for the little darling.
Blessings,
Shelia ;)
I'm always amazed at how people can be the first in line to snatch the best things!
ReplyDeleteLove the massive cabinet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wicker set! I love the cushions, too. Looking forward to seeing your sofa. It has been raining everywhere I think. Yesterday we finally had a break, and this morning looks sunny, but the forecast says that will change.
ReplyDeleteIf I had room for that cabinet, I would have snatched it up too - such great storage possibilities! The rain is wearing me out too - please, some sun soon would be wonderful :-)
ReplyDeleteSounds like it was an amazing estate sale?!?! That cabinet is TDF and that wicker furniture is soooooo beautiful!!! I can't wait to see your new sofa too :o)

Wow, the cabinet is wonderful. Wish I had a spot for a big piece like that. I Cant wait to see the sofa all spiffied up. I haven't been out thrifting in a long time, will have to get back at it. You have inspired me.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh... so sorry you missed out on the cabinet. The chippy paint looked perfectly aged too. So, are you saying we will not get to see the sofa in the den? Silly girl.
ReplyDeleteWhat great offerings. I would easily live with that wonderful vintage wicker. I wish I had a sun room large enough to use large pieces like the sofa and chair. Love their style!
ReplyDeleteOh I would have loved that cabinet also!!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if you could have easily sold the cabinet and the wicker set to any of us! That is, if you didn't lose your heart to them yourself. Love the fabric on the wicker set! I love the-one-that-got-away stories!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your very kind comment today Olive - love the faux bamboo chair - I do not mind you pinning my photos.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't you hate it when someone beats you to the punch??? That cabinet is amazing! Looks like you made the best of a rainy weekend. Looking forward to seeing your new sofa.
ReplyDeletei love the wicker furniture. so you did purchase or didn't??! either way i love it ... really gives you a beachy or can give you (your home) a totally different look as well. ( :
ReplyDeletecloudy here today ... i wonder how much more rain we can take around here.... we are getting kind of swampy.
have a good week.
Yeah, that's when my house will be clean too. lol
ReplyDeletesorry about the cabinet. I saw 'wardrobe' and sighed at the thought of you missing it. Looks like it would be a great addition.
Too bad the chippy old cabinet had sold. I love the wicker set. I wouldn't have a place for it though.
ReplyDeleteI'll look forward to the post when your house is clean during a full moon on an odd Thursday. haha
That was a great piece...just tell yourself it was too heavy to move!
ReplyDeleteI love the material on the wicker set.
Maybe when the odd Thursday and full moon come my house will be clean too, probably not!
I would have been sick over that cabinet too.
ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeletethat cabinet is fabulous! I would have been verrrry sad too!:( The wicker set also very nice, it would have been hard for me to pass up!
Will be waiting to see the sofa, when the moon is full and the werewolves are howling!

My daughter has essentially the same cabinet, chippy and all. It was left in her house when she bought it. Probably from the turn of another century. It's her pantry. Should I put your name on it? In my family that's what my kids do for what they want "when you die, ma." Cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteYes, Jo please do that.
DeleteI love the big old cabinet, too. And I passed some chenille up awhile back and now wish I hadn't. It's hard to buy everything I want though. No room! lol Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh my...that is one AWESOME cabinet...so sorry that you didn't get it. I hit the jackpot Sat. on some old beadboard cabinet doors (like the cabinet doors) for a steal:) Get this...I only went to this upscale shop for ideas and left with four great doors for just pennies...you just never know.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Olive, I laughed so hard about when you will photograph the sofa. I know that feeling..I thought the old wicker looked abused. Sad. Take care.xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteI love the print on the cushions of the wicker! Looks like a fun sale to visit:@)
ReplyDeleteHi Olive... I will be waiting for the full moon on an odd Thursday... so I can see your sofa!... Love that old chenille bedspread!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, that cabinet is amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great estate sale. I would have been disappointed too if I had missed purchasing that wonderful cabinet!!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
White cabinet . . . I would have been disappointed . . . I have the perfect place! And the garden set, how charming . . . You find the best items, sales, vintage, antique . . . Looking forward to seeing your new sofa!
ReplyDeleteI found an old cabinet (not as nice as the one in your photo) at a garage sale. I bought it and we used it for years as a china cabinet. I gave it to my daughter for her art studio when I got our lovely new (old) hutch. Sometimes you can find treasures in somebody's garage!
ReplyDeleteOMG...you always find the good stuff! even if you didn't get to bring it all home! I know you would have found the PERFECT spot for that cabinet!
ReplyDeleteS H A R I ♥
amazing cabinet including the chippiness! Can't wait to see your sofa purchase....Looked like a great estate sale! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI'm over here sick for you! I'd have sat in front of it and cried. Romeo? Well he just coughed up a furball for you. He's all sympathy for your plight but thankful it didn't come home here because he's had enough furniture moving for the year ;)
ReplyDeleteWe'll be waiting for that odd Thursday with the full moon. Or was that a cresent moon?
Purrs and hugs,
Romeo and "her"
I kept waiting for you to say the person who bought the white cabinet couldn't fit it in their car so they sold it to you!!! Maybe you will run across it again some day. It was perfect!
ReplyDeleteThe cabinet is so cool Olive! I love pieces like that. Too bad my house is now way too full for such an awesome piece.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing your last post. Such beautiful photos of your sunny rooms!
sending hugs...
Ooo, that cabinet would have been fun to FILL :D
ReplyDeleteWith wonderful old white linens :D
I loved hearing about all the salvations at camp!
Hellooooo Olive!*!*!
ReplyDeleteI would have been sad about the S*O*L*D Tag on the White Cupboard as well... YOU and Joe go some of the BeSt SaLes!!!
Hugs - Jeanine Burkhardt
I can see why the chippy cabinet was already sold. The wicker group is so pretty. Too bad it was damaged. Hope to see your new sofa. Isn't this weather the pitts?..that's pits with two ts. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, but a "new" sofa for your den is indeed exciting! Can't wait to see it.
