Sweet Gum With A Twist

In the South Sweet Gum trees are plentiful.

I shot these photos off a very high deck that is almost in the tree canopy.

I had to play with the oddly almost alien like sweet gum balls on my editing program.

  12. Do the trees grow to any sort of height? We have a weed here which grows to about three feet high in the summer months and produces those spiky little menaces. It is an absolute pain! Love your photos! xx

  13. Sweet gum. So that's what they're called.
Great variations! I heard of someone collecting the little balls, spray painting them gold and selling them in 4 packs for Christmas ornaments.
Gardening, as you've been doing.....I shall do it vicariously through you..except for the feeling like you've been thrown down the steps part!

  15. Tom-the sap is sweet and has been used for medicinal purposes. It can heal skin ailments.

Molly-they grow very tall and the balls go every where and are easy to fall over as you walk on the side of the street.

  18. How creative you are! I need to learn how to do this too!

Thanks for your sweet comments and visits recently. I'm sorry it's taken me so long to get over here to visit but I am trying to visit as many of bloggy friends as possible. I will hopefully be back to more regular blogging now that the kids are back at school and our renovations are nearly finished after the flooding we had.

Have a great Friday and best wishes for a gorgeous weekend!
