Mama Bird

A mama bird feeding her babies a worm {or a grub}.

It is a bit of a challenge for my camera to capture birds but I snapped her as she sneaked into that house.
We have respected her privacy and not looked at the baby birds.

I planted a wildflower garden, up there on the hill, beside that tree last week and I am anxious to see what is popping up. It is supposed to rain tonight which is good because I cannot water the garden because we are at the old house.

Are you fascinated by birds like we are?

  2. You got some great shots, Olive! It looks like she has a grub, which is great, they are so bad for your yard. Worms are good!!

  7. I love watching the birds who visit our yard, lots of them land on the fence right outside my window and greet me each morning! I love seeing your momma bird feeding her babies!

  8. The photos are great! The birds in "our neck of the woods" don't actually use birdhouses - wonder why?

  9. Oh, yes I am fascinated by birds. The other day a friend of ours had a pigeon fall down her chimney. She was scared and phoned me in a panic. I went round and took it outside, where it just hobbled around. It looked as though it was blind in one eye so we carried the poor thing home and washed its eyes...and they were fine. Juat a bit sooty. We kept it in ovee night and it recovered miraculously. Watching it fly off the next orning was such a lovely memory for me and for the children!!

  12. Yes, my husband and I are very interested in birds. We have lots that visit our garden to be fed and have a little book on hand so that we can find out which bird it is. We get so many different sorts - it's really lovely, and I love hearing their bird song at dawn, when they go mad for about half an hour, and then it goes all quiet again!!

  13. Yes! They are absolutely fascinating! I could sit in the yard and watch them for hours. We had a wren last year who built a nest in our carport and I had the most fun watching the progress from start to finish. Ann
