~a weekend, a path, a garden~

Our weekend was a whirl of activity.

We had our neighborhood garage sale. It was fabulous fun minus the getting up in the dark. We have wonderful friends and neighbors and would not have a sale if not for them. They are almost more fun than we can stand at six o' clock in the morning.

Joe and I sold almost everything and donated the rest. This image above is our neighbor's brick path where we had the sale. It had to be photographed.

Yesterday was our daughter's, CC's, college piano recital. She played beautifully, a peppy song, Hava Nagila. She woke up the audience!

We are back at the old house and I am resting from working in the flower garden and mowing the grass at the yellow house last week. Here are some flowers from our yellow house.

This little pink climbing rose is trailing all over the place.

Stonecrop with it's slight touch of pink.

We love flowers against hard surfaces like the landscape timbers.

What did you do this past weekend?

  1. That is gorgeous Olive. I spent time with the boys as my husband worked. Well I should say I spent time in the car carting them around!

  6. Spent the weekend working in the garden! I love that brick path in your neighbour's place. Lovely photos as always of the gorgeous flowers at the yellow house. Hava Nagilla was a very brave thing for your daughter to play. You must have been very proud of her!

  7. I can imagine you all dancing to Hava Nagila at 6a am! Sounded brilliant! What did I do this Bank Holiday - well I bought a new kitchen, which arrived in flat packs in 2006 (unmissable bargain) - also being promised faithfully it would be up and running in no time. So today I got out a screw driver, etc, laid the boddy pieces out on the utility room floor and got to work! It's amazing what you can do when you try!

  9. Hi Olive! Glad your neighborhood sale went well. I love that sweet little path. I would have loved to have heard your daughter play. Do you know what? I played for a wedding years ago and Hava Nagila is what the bride wanted me to play after they were introduced as husband and wife. She wanted to surprise her mother and I'm sure she did! ;)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  13. Hi Olive!
I spent Saturday & Sunday outside with my Mr. mowing, planting flowers, trimming bushes, & enjoying our time together! Your flowers are so lovely! I picked the last of my peonies, brought them to my office, & have a huge bouquet on my desk. Next to lilacs, they're my favorites!

  22. Sounds like a full weekend!
We celebrated Easter a week late. That's what we did this weekend. We were too sick Easter weekend and didn't want to infect everyone.
Also revisited a grand Open House at an old home we have a crush on.
