Estate sale finds from Saturday
The hand painted tray was $7.50. I bought it to sell it but I really like it and the more I look at it the less likely I am to sell it.
The little topiary tree and burlap pillow are Goodwill finds. I know I have told many of you that I broke up with Goodwill last year. A new Goodwill opened, near the yellow house, with a book store and the prices seem to be more reasonable so I am dating the Goodwill again.
I need to find one more tray.
Joe and I have bought a lot of books from Borders, which is closing, and they are taking over the hearth, the room, and the house.
Joe found two very large fish bowls of shells for $12.00. We had a lot of fun sorting through them. I was able to fill a large cloche with the smaller ones.
Some small coral was included....be still my heart.

ReplyDeleteI love this kind of pretty tray. I have a couple..no, wait, I have 3. Time to do a post on vintage trays, I guess.

O, I am having a giveaway that you and Joe might like. :))
Love that tray and what a deal on those shells with the coral. Looks like y'all helped Borders by buying all those books. I hate that they closed here.
ReplyDeleteOlive -- what wonderous finds! Love the tray, the shells are devine and that coral -- I agree- be still my heart. I am a huge book nut and just cannot pass up a bargain. GW and I have not totally broke up but we have had a cooling off of our relationship :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

what a beautiful tray. I adore your fireplace. Thats how they ought to be built, up high enough to see the fire. I never understood why all fireplaces were'nt made that way.
ReplyDeletesee ya soon.
Keep the tray. Funny, I have stacks of home decor books and magazines all over my house too.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a pretty tray Olive! Your shells are great too.

ReplyDeleteI'd have a hard time letting go of that tray also. I love all those pretty shells, you can never have too many or too many books. Great finds!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! Love the tray and Yes, keep it! The shells and coral are perfect!
ReplyDeleteCongrats about you and Goodwill - you make a nice couple. Although I am not overly fond of the one we have, so I avoid it and go to our community thrift. Great finds Olive, I love that little pillow. Ann

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you and Goodwill have made up. I'm afraid I haven't been able to make up with my Goodwill.
ReplyDeleteI love your trays. I have a few and they make me smile each time I look at them.
What a fun shell find. And, coral too!!! Lucky you!
Your hearth looks wonderful.
PS. Hope Irene misses your area completely.
SO pretty. You've given me more ideas for my beach room.
ReplyDeleteOh I love your tray too! I don't blame you for not wanting to part with it! I always think "Would I buy this again if I found it for $7.50?" And if so? I keep it! Lol!
ReplyDeleteOlive I absolutely LOVE your fireplace! And too many books is always a good thing *winks* Also great deal on the shells! Vanna
Great topiary! Glad to hear you and Goodwill are on speaking terms again. : ) I haven't been in awhile, but we are moving and I think my hubby would kill me if I brought anything into the house at this point. I'll have to search one out though at the new place!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you have made up with the good people at Goodwill. Their profits were going down without you. The Borders up here closed a few months ago and I didn't know about it until it was too late. I love books.
