The Tree at last.
The Theme?
Our theme is there is no theme.
Not one item was purchased for this tree this year.
No designer looks here. Not in the competition.
This is an overly large tree for this room so the chairs are snuggled up close to it.
The ribbon and angel tree topper were given to me by the sweet manager of a thrift store I frequent and are very special to me.
This tree has about fifty percent fewer ornaments than last year because I just stopped when decorating it and said enough and put the rest away and donated some boxes to a local charity that very day.
Linking with the mega Block Party via Honey at 2805 for Christmas Trees.
The link will work on 12/08/12.
So many parties I am dizzy.
Happy Christmas
Olive
Olive, your tree is so beautiful and I like the chairs all snug against it! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Your tree looks beautiful Olive....very festive and Christmassy. You have done a great job....it's not easy doing the tree. It takes me all day !! It's the lights that I find most difficult.I think that an hour with your feet up in that comfy chair, with a glass of wine or whatever is your favourite tipple, is called for Olive. XXXX
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty Olive... I love trees that are not "designer" trees, but those that hold precious ornaments which each hold a precious memory close to your heart... thanks for sharing, it is stunning!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteIt's a very traditional Christmas tree and I LOVE the look. Very nicely done and someone is going to love your donated Christmas items.
ReplyDeleteYour tree doesn't need to be in a competition because it is absolutely beautiful! Sometimes less is better. I didn't put nearly as many ornaments on my tree this year either.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day Olive,
Gail
Olive -- it is PERFECT and I love the chairs snuggled close :)
ReplyDeleteCHRISTmas Blessings!
Gail
YOUR TREE LOOKS WONDERFUL AND WHAT A NICE BACKDROP, THE WINDOW AND CURTAINS, IT LOOKS DESIGNER TO ME, AS IT SEEMS TO GO SO WELL IN YOUR ROOM. JUST BEAUTIFUL. RICHARD FROM MY OLD HISTORIC HOUSE.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful Olive! I love how you have cozied up the chairs, so warm and inviting! I love looking at the tree at night, so you've got the perfect place to just sit and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is GOJUSH! I didn't buy any new ornaments this year either. Have way more than I needed. Love the tree framed by your big window.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous in front of the window! Love the draperies behind it! Your images came out beautifully!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas tree. The lights just twinkle with your festive and colorful tree.

Your tree is so pretty, Olive!
ReplyDeleteYour tree is beautiful. I loved your comments...so true. there is just so much "stuff". I too am dizzy from the parties..but it is fun! and I get to "meet" ladies like you! I love a room with a large full tree like yours. It all looks just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Olive! The best trees are those that hold special memories and the ornaments help jog our minds! No theme, the real thing! :-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
What a gorgeous tree, sweet Olive. You have beautiful ornaments and in my fav colors, I'm traditional when it comes with C'mas, so I love your reds and greens! Tree making it's not easy, goodness, I was so tired making it, the light situation it's the worst!...it takes me hours!!
ReplyDeleteOnce it's done I pick up a cup of tea and reward myself with a pice of cake, lol! Your tree is too pretty!
FABBY
Your tree looks fabulous! I am not sure I could bear to NOT put all my ornaments on the various trees, but I salute your restraint. And the tree looks full and gorgeous anyway.
ReplyDeleteLove that wing chair, BTW.
Yummy.
Cass
PS We don't do theme trees either-- ours are mish-mash mixes of all sorts of ornaments, happily jumbled up together. At least, I hope they're happy ....
Traditional and unless I am deceived real. :)
ReplyDeleteYour tree looks wonderful, and I really like the backdrop of the window and the draped curtains.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is gorgeous girl. Love all those big bulbs. I did the same thing decorating mine - I said 'enough already' and let it be. Didn't do near what I did last year.
ReplyDeleteLovely...and she just stopped and donated! You are definitely a very different kind of person than I. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty Olive. I think you have just the right amount of ornaments. I love it by the window with the chairs nearby. Nice call letting someone else enjoy the rest of the decorations.
ReplyDeleteOlive, your tree is just beautiful and your photos of it certainly do it justice! Your whole room seems to be glowing with happiness and joy. Ann
ReplyDeletePretty, Pretty! The chairs really make a statement in that location. Great idea. Now, I wish I could do that!

You tree is bright and beautiful. I just posted a vintage garland tutorial and giveaway you might enjoy. thanks, cindy
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the parties! It's a busy week, isn't it? Your tree is very bright and cheerful. It looks so pretty. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Our tree is never themed, except this year I focused a little with the burlap and gingham. When we add all our other ornaments this weekend, it will most certainly take a turn to unthemed.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is spectacular.
LOL I love the idea of a no theme theme for the tree....and the donating.....must be something in the air....I just stopped decorating mine too and declared it unfinished but finished..and sent some to thrift store....needing to minimalize a little bit...love your blogging....tree looks real pretty..
ReplyDeleteMona
Oh, please Olive just one more party?

ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect Olive! I would love to hunker down in that room for a good chat and a cuppa! *winks* Vanna
ReplyDeleteThanks, Olive, for linking your beautiful tree at the Christmas Tree Party at 2805! It's so festive!
ReplyDeleteOh Olive your tree is stunning. Looks pretty designer to me...better then the ones I've seen done by decorators. I have only done one little tree....maybe tonight I might start at home. I'm happy just see it all in my shop for now.

ReplyDeleteDanielle
Olive, I love your "no theme" tree. It's absolutely perfect and beautiful...and big. :)
ReplyDeleteHugs and have a good weekend,
Babs
It's beautiful, Olive! I don't use as many ornaments as some, but a good portion of mine have special meaning and others are just fillers. I do sometimes think it's not enough, but then I remember that I have to take them all off again come January! : ) I did give quite a few to my daughter, who is in a house for the first time this Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeleteyour tree is beautiful and I would choose the chair snuggled up to the tree as close as possible.
Olive, I love all the colored ornaments on your tree. It is lovely. Thanks for your sweet comment on my tree.
ReplyDeleteI am following you now.
Warm Christmas wishes.
Barb
Your tree is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!
Olive, I love the colors on your tree. Your header is beautiful! I can't keep up with all the parties either! So much fun and not enough time.
ReplyDeleteYour tree is so pretty and I love that you said enough...I should practice that word!!
ReplyDeleteDear Olive,
ReplyDeleteYour tree is a beauty! I love all your beautiful ornaments. The colors of each ball is what I call true Christmas colors. I didnt intend to have a theme it just happened. I like how the tree is centered between the two windows. Very nice..
Enjoy the time...
That tree is stunning! We too don't have a theme for our tree because it is loaded with an assortment of ornaments that we have all collected over the years. I love it that way too!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy that gorgeous tree and time with your sweet family!
Best Christmas wishes,
Natasha.
Olive, your tree is gorgeous! I love it. I also love how you have placed it in the room. Absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be away for Christmas so I don't think I'll put up a tree this year...but I may just have to reconsider that decision.
You have inspired me. I can't stop saying "beautiful" when I look at your photos. XO
Your tree is simply fantastic! the combination of colors in your ornaments and christmas balls are awesome! It is a wonderful sight when lighted on!
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays,
