A Weight Scale I Actually Like!

It is a vintage green wicker baby scale. Joe and I found it at a garage sale, of course, dear ones. My eyes went to it at once. Joe thought I was a bit nuttier than usual but indulged me again. We paid ten dollars for it. The face has staining. Our philosophy is to embrace imperfection so we do not mind. I found four similar ones on Ebay but none were green like this one and I see no evidence this was painted. The hydrangeas are dried from our garden. Some dried pretty and some not so much. I blame the awful heat. I had no idea where I was going to put the scale but in front of the fireplace seems to work and protects the fragile wicker which spins by the way. A corner of this scale is the third photo in my header.

We also replaced the mirror over the fireplace with this print. The print is massive and fills the rock surface better. I found the print at a garage sale in our neighborhood for ten dollars. Hard. To. Believe.

Well, I don't really like the chair very much so it will probably be gone quite soon. I've had it for years and years and don't really like it very much...so it's time for it to go.:)

  50. i saw a similar scale at a thirft store for $18 and was going to buy it but wasn't sure that seemed like a fair price. I've gone back and seen it still there. Thought it would make a cute presentation for a baby shower gift but alas have no one to give it too.
i thought the same thing of just using it for dried hydrangeas!
