Our Friend, My Mini, Our Monday

A  friend of ours has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. We love her dearly and felt her to be indestructible and are having a truly hard time with this news. She is forty nine years old for goodness sake. Praying is the most and best we can do. She has a splendid family and is receiving the finest medical care possible. God is in control and this is another area where faith matters.

Treasure those you love my friends and tell them how much you love them today.

♥♥♥

Joe and I traveled to Greenville, South Carolina yesterday to obtain repairs on my Mini. Those repairs come at maximum cost...imagine that!

We built some fun into the day by walking some three miles and a tiny bit of shopping.

Plus they lent us another Mini to drive. A key less entry one. Joe and I were like two country bumpkins trying to figure out how to start it!

This is my Mini.

Isn't she darling by that big truck?

Choosing a Mini is like picking out a cute puppy. They are all cute.

  1. Hi Olive,

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. It can feel incredibly frustrating to be helpless in the face of a friend's pain but I'm sure knowing that you are there for her will bring your friend peace.

  6. Olive - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend - love and prayers to her and her family.
I used to own a battered mini when the children were growing up - the trips we had in it! Touch wood it never broke down on me which was a miracle. We always did our own repairs. One day my hubs backed up the drive straight into it and dented the headlight. (My fault I hadn't parked it far enough back he said:( ) 6am the next morning, the milk man caught me patching it all up with a big tin of Isopon. A bit of a rough job but it got me mobile again:0)

  8. Dear Olive, I was so very sorry to hear about your poor friend. That is so very young. Let us pray that His healing spirit will fall on her. I Love your Mini. Isn't she cute?! I had the original mini (red) back in the 60's, and I loved bombing round in it.

  9. That's tough Olive...OC is no fun. I had a friend die in her early 40s just a few years ago...I hope and pray your friend has been diagnosed early enough.
Love your little car. We have a little car too (not a mini). I hate driving behind those big trucks though...can't see a darn thing up ahead!

Cute car. At first I thought you meant a mini-van until I saw it! I used to have a Miata, which I loved and now have a big old honking mini-van. I want a cute car again!
