Our fifth piece of McCoy.
Perhaps.
We are not well versed in this pottery but we think this hand vase is a McCoy.
It is unmarked but the turquoise is spot on and we have a large turquoise McCoy bowl that is the same shade. I found it a a church sale for four dollars.
Our weekend was quiet but spent partly working and switching locations. We are at the old house now and I am dusting and cleaning and may not ever finish. Dusting at our old house is not for cowards because the plaster walls shed dust constantly. I am also making good old southern BBQ pork in the crockpot. It's been cooking all night and smells yummy. It is not low fat but we only have it once a year.
What are you up to today?

Very pretty vase - very jealous!!
ReplyDeleteI think your vase is Shawnee which I find just as desirable as McCoy. Their aqua/turquoise glaze is gorgeous and combines perfectly with McCoy's aqua glaze. According to my book, it measures 7" tall is is marked USA. You made a GREAT score!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty piece. I am babysitting Leila.
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches Sherry!
ReplyDeleteLove the vase...I don't know much about pottery...but I sure think that one is great!! Great price too!!
ReplyDeleteThat definitely looks like a McCoy piece to me. That bbq sounds wonderful! What time shall I come over? I'll bring the baked beans.
ReplyDeleteOlive - what a brilliant find. It's lovely. I Googled McCoy and it does look very similar, but I would guess that Sherry is right. I bought a jug from a car boot a little while back which looks a bit similar, although mine has 'Harford Made in England' stamped on the base. I will post a picture on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI think it's Shawnee, as well. It's not in any of my McCoy reference books. I have a small piece of Shawnee that is the same shade of aqua as McCoy.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

A beautiful vase, Olive.
ReplyDeleteI set the table for a "photoshoot".:-) Ordered fabric swatches with a little project in mind and that is about it for the day.
it looks like the "real mccoy", but without a marking i always get confused....i buy my pottery pieces because i love them and if they are worth something, well, that is just a bonus....
ReplyDeletesorry your daughter walked through your screen door!! i have had a similar experience with a sliding door! quite startling, for sure!! but then funny.

ReplyDeleteJust came across you via Share my Garden - I have seen that piece on google being sold by Sky Lily Antiques and Collectibles - it is a cream colour and she seems to want $22 for it
ReplyDeleteSorry I forgot to say it is Shawnee.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Love the header. Warm fall colours.
ReplyDeleteHope to see you on my blog:)
What a fun vase. Anything with a hand is so interesting. Fingers crossed that it is indeed "the real McCoy!
ReplyDeleteHmm, I wouldn't know who makes it, but I love the shade! So pretty, and you got a great deal on it.
ReplyDeleteWorking from home today, its tough staying away from blogs when my home computer is so near!

What a cute piece. Looks McCoy-ish to me or as Sherry suggested maybe Shawnee. I love the colors from that era.
