The last of the pink roses from our garden.
Vintage clam basket is in the background.
It has been over a week since I posted, I hope you missed me and Joe.
We had CC and her suite-mate for the holiday weekend. We only saw them for meals and church, I call them Nightwalkers as they wake up when the sun goes down. We did go thrift shopping on Saturday afternoon with them, it was cloudy.
Joe and I went to several estate sales and many garage sales.
We started at 5:30am for goodness sake. We found a literal mountain of vintage and new linens (and three pieces of McCoy) for me to sell on consignment. That's what I have been doing, ironing up a storm. The above pleated shams (new) nearly made me loose my mind. I finally finished all that yesterday and have told Joe to try to prevent me from buying pretty old pillow cases no matter how much I want to.
We are keeping the McCoy. I'll show that later.
I shall be visiting you very soon my peeps♥
I am linking with Debra of Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.

Hi Olive! Yes, we did miss you! What a beautiful rose you have there. Such a pretty shade of pink. I think it's quite sad to think that the garden is now past its best really. I expect you will be glad to see the onset of Fall, when you can get some cooler weather. Can't believe you started at 5.30 a.m. for your estate and garage sales. That's devotion above and beyond the call of duty!! Enjoy your weekend my friend.
ReplyDeleteLove the pretty photos of your roses. I need pretty today...it makes me feel a little less down.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive,
ReplyDeleteHaven't been able to blog- read much lately so am happy to know that I haven't missed much here. Your posts are always so calm and inspiring at the same time. My one little rose bush has just started to get pretty with the cooler weather. Yours is a beauty!
"nightwalkers"... Funny!

MISSING you Miss O!! Your roses are exquisite. Those linens are a find and some REAL McCoy too -- can't wait to see those. I have tossed the idea of consigning some but KNOW I ended up keeping anything I buy to sell -- know myself too well, lol!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend friend :)
Blessings!
Gail
Olive,
ReplyDeleteLove those first pictures. Just stunning. I love McCoy. And Hull. And Weller. And Shawnee. And Redwing.....

Did I hear McCoy!!! I did miss you. Glad you got to spend a little bit of time with the daughter and friend. I must have drove my Mom nuts when I was in college. She would take the weekend off to spend time with me and I'd be running around catching up with my friends.
ReplyDeleteWhat pretty shams. Can't wait to see the McCoy.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive, the roses are lovely....so fresh and alive looking. I am a rose lover and yours are wonderful.

Hi Olive...
ReplyDeleteJust read your sweet note and wanted to come over to say thanks for your visit! I always enjoy when you stop in, my friend!
Ohhh...your pink roses are gorgeous! I think I need to plant some! They look lovely with the old shrimp basket as a background! And...I love your pleated pillow covers...sooo pretty and really worth the pain of ironing! wink! Thanks for sharing your new pretties with us today! Can't wait to see your McCoy pieces. You mentioned my Roseville pottery. You wouldn't believe where I found those. Hehe! My honey came carrying home an old box that had been in one of his parents storage buildings. It was so full of caked dirt that you couldn't tell what was in it. Anyway, I started digging (a little dirt never stops me from digging out a possible treasure). Found that set of Roseville candleholders with the matching jardinaire! Eureka! I did a little checking around...and it does seem to be a bit pricey! Yeeehawww!!! Thanks again for coming by, my friend!
Have a great weekend!

Your rose pictures are so beautiful! Those pleats DO look like hard work to iron! I don't buy large battenburg tablecloths any more for that reason! Sounds like your saleing went well though!
