Don't Sanitize the Story

Born in a manger, in the humblest of conditions, amongst the straw and stink.
He is with us, still.

"If we sanitize the Christmas story-eliminating it's earthiness, pain and struggle, we miss the truth of a God who deeply loves us. The birth of Jesus is the moment God came to dwell in our midst, to join us in our struggle." -Author, Shaun Dyer

  11. Last week I watched the movie "The Nativity" on pay-per-view. It was a spur of the moment thing and it ended up being just what I needed. It sort of grounded me and took the emphasis off all the "hoopla." The movie definitely did not sugar-coat what really happened in the months before Christ was born. What Mary and Joseph went through was challenging to say the least. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Best wishes for 2012!
