They are spectacular-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteDon't know how you got them to sit still long enough to photograph them! Beautiful pictures. They are such dainty creatures.
ReplyDeleteJudy
How in the world did you get these shots? Marvelous..
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
Good for you! They need the fresh nectar . . . I am envious, (in a good way) of your close up photos.
ReplyDeleteOf late I have been sitting on the screened in porch and watching. The Hummingbird comes to feed and flits off. I then go look to see if I can find their nest. No luck so far . . . I have one of the Hummers that consistently flys to the same tree. I would love to find a nest . . .
You have a little beauty on your hands. They are wonderful little creatures.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Olive, you have taken gorgeous photos. I love the hummers but have yet to get a great photo of ours. We have about 6 of them and I have to fill the feeder every day. They are letting me get right up to the feeder now as they buzz around me so I should be able to get an excellent picture soon. Aren't they so special?
ReplyDeleteGreat pics, Olive.
ReplyDeleteOlive, you are their servant. I don't change mine that often. I bet my hummers would love to come to your house.
ReplyDeleteOh Olive, I love Hummers so much!... I am always so sad when ours leave in September to head south for the winter... I am going to tell them to stay at your place!... beautiful photos!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteLovely shots! We need to refill our feeder tomorrow, they have been drinking it up quickly in the heat.
ReplyDeleteKat
What an amazing photo, Olive! I had a hummer buzz me at my front door a few weeks ago. It startled me as I was unlocking the front door. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteAgressive but VERY fun and sweet birds. Neat photo!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo Olive! It's always awesome when you view a hummingbird when it's standing still...and even more amazing you captured the image.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had more of them here.
ReplyDeleteI adore watching ours. I know they come about May 15th and leave about Sept 15th. Hoping to get a good shot of them with my new camera....your pics are wonderfuL!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Surprised you got a clear picture of them. They're usually so "flittery"!
ReplyDeleteDo you make your own liquid? And I have ants all over the one I just hung. How do I avoid that?
ReplyDeleteYes, i make the nectar. Rinse the feeder off prior to hanging. Do not hang a feeder from a tree or near a tree. Mine are on a deck. Also the sugar to water ratio is one to four. One cup of sugar to four of water. Bring to a boil and let it softly boil for two minutes.
DeleteGosh, it's so nice to see them still at your feeders instead of the way I usually see them. I'm sure they are grateful for you.
ReplyDeleteBeing their humbled servant gives you hours of enjoyment!! And pictures!! Wonderful shots!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder! My feeder is empty.
ReplyDeleteAren't they precious? :)
and they love you....
ReplyDeleteWe have two that come to our feeder everyday...I love watching them!
