Virtual Christmas Cards

I have been making virtual cards.
Next year I will use a photo of mine for hard copy cards.
I ran out of time this year.
Joe and I believe in the personal touch of mailing actual cards.

These shots are all from my post about Christmas Celebrated on U.S. Highway 80 in Dublin, Georgia here.

I have an awful time getting the font color to match the ribbon...it's too pink or too red...ugh.

I also use the effect Cross Process in Picnik which gives the shots an old fashioned look I like.

This one is my favorite, font color issues aside, the rockers and wreath speak to me of simpler times and it is certainly a southern porch.

Now I am off to photograph a real sleigh on someone's front porch while I have morning light.

Thanks bunches for stopping by, I know it is a busy time.

  1. I do real cards too, through the U.S. Mail. I don't care much for receiving virtual cards, so I don't send them to people either... it's just nice to have the real thing.

  8. Olive,
We (meaning I) send out very few cards, and time got away from me this year.
There's only about 15 to send, so hopefully I'll do it today or tomorrow.
    Your pictures are beautiful.
Have a blessed and wonderful weekend!

  10. Thanks for the tip on the Picnik edit. I am in sort of a rut with my picture editing and need to try something new. We send real cards too...I don't think I'll ever stop. I have noticed that we get fewer and fewer cards every year though. Happy Christmas to you and yours...

I had been using a different one but I like this better...see...you taught an old dog a new trick! LOL your posts are so pretty....there is just not as much time this year. :-) I say that every year...
