The urn I painted has joined vintage pottery and a garage sale lamp on our white table.
This is a good example of mixing old pottery with new.
The large white cachepot in an unmarked McCoy.
We bought this shade for six dollars, on clearance, from Target last year.
We were waiting for a lamp to pair it with.
Finally we came across this lamp on Saturday at a garage sale.
Total cost nine dollars.
The burlap like shade, lit, gives a soft glow to our yellow walls.
You can read about painting the large urn here.

So beautiful, Olive!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,

I'm liking the whole look, Olive, the lamp, the white urns and especially the large gold framed around the the other two.
ReplyDeleteThe white for fall is just beautiful; the lamp is especially nice. Thanks for sharing!

I love that in the middle of the neutral grouping is a book on colour! It's all very pretty. Magazine worthy, really. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteOoooo!!!!! Likey -Likey very much!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the lamp lit
ReplyDeleteLove your vignette Olive! Especially your oval frame framing your painting and your mirror!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the shot that includes the books. Sorry to hear about your daffodils. That's just plain annoying! We have moles here, but they just eat grubs, not my daffodils, thank goodness, and hopefully not my garlic. Then again, there's some pest for every plant. lol
ReplyDeleteIt's all so lovely, and that shade looks perfect on your new lamp! You would never know it was a bargain pairing.

O'Olive, you created a beautiful fall table!
ReplyDeleteOlive, I like all your pottery. The plaid shade looks great. When I was young, my husband bought me a McCoy cookie jar for Christmas. My oldest daughter now owns it. It's is special to me.Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteI love your lamp...have been looking for a similar one for a while now..maybe I will run across one soon...I like your white table and everything on it...

ReplyDeleteThat shade looks like it was made for that lamp. I love your framed frames.
ReplyDeleteLovin' the smallest white piece, the handles are cute! The burlap shade looks great lit too-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteLove how all the shades of white come together so nicely and the lamp casts a golden glow on them. Really nice!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS vignette Olive!! Love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteIt's all so very pretty! I have that same shade...got it at a salvage store that carries a lot of Target merchandise ( I have two)...still need to do a makeover on some lamps that I got for $2.50 each.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
That is a neat lamp....looks so pretty with the cream pieces...
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I love all the soft warm colors and I wish I'd seen that lampshade at Target!

Very nice. Actually, charming.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty is that! Love the lamp and shade. I always have a special place in my heart for white pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous vignette! I love the lamp! The shade was a deal; it just makes the lamp! The cache pot and urn are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love the burlap shade. I have such trouble picking out shades. I get the lamps I love but do not know what shades to us. How tall, how side and where on the lamp the bottom of the shade should go. Ahhh. As you can see....I am clueless. But, you did good.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely and charming. I am big at finding things at yard sales...You can always find use of the simple things and make them beautiful. I love your blog...it's so warm and inviting to visit. If you ever have a free moment come visit me as well. Shari!
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative Olive! Your table looks beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteI love this grouping and that shade is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe white is so pretty with the earthy tones you have going on.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Olive this is incredible! Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOlive, I think the white and soft golds of this grouping is fall at it's best. It is stunning... it almost glows with a soft golden light!
ReplyDeleteLove the whole look of this vignette, Olive! Great lampshade! I have to start looking at some of the things I see like vases from GW with an eye to painting them.
ReplyDeleteI love all the whites! The shade is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty vignette...love the lamp and shade.

Olive, that last picture is gasp-worthy! I would have thought that shade was an oldie. Beautiful, all of it. Ann
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely vignette... the lamp shade is fall perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive, Your have an eye for finding things and putting them together for a very designer look. I love how the pattern on the urn and the shade are so different but look so great together! Great vignette and I like your price tag........

Great job Olive, love the white urn and lamp together. Great finds to use together. The dried flowers look great, I've been drying some hydrangeas for two weeks, so I'll see how they look. Hope to use them soon.
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty. I love pumpkins in urns. :o)
ReplyDeleteSO pretty! I love all the white for fall and that lampshade grabbed my attention. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the whites! The pumpkins and the urns are great. Have a wonderful week, Laura
ReplyDeleteLove the way you pulled the frames together. The whites are my favorite and this is such a sweet vignette.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE this vignette and white/cream vases, pots, etc. Now I'm KICKING myself, because I saw this lamp shade at Target and passed on it because I didn't have a lamp it would work with. Thanks for sharing your paint color. I love old McCoy or Haeger pieces especially in white, and it's good to know a color that will work with that.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Babs
VERY attractive....
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Olive! Love the lamp!
