Vintage Sign: Pig's For Sale

Pig's For Sale vintage sign was purchased in Ridge Spring last Saturday. For now it is resting on the deck where my garden tools are kept. I might need to clean it. Or not.

I am looking for a vintage Eggs For Sale sign too.

I almost bought a large Peaches sign at the farm sale but changed my mind.

Do you like vintage signs?

Do you have vintage signs?

Do tell.

  2. I like them but don't have any. My husband would go crazy over the pig sign. He has a funny love for pigs. :)

  3. Are you concerned that people will stop and ask about the pigs or the eggs? I have been looking for the perfect vintage sign to put in my kitchen forever and a day. It's been so long that I don't know if any would be perfect enough now.

  4. I sure do like vintage signs! I have a few myself, and I like your photos - but the apostrophe in Pigs would drive me crazy.

  10. There was a produce stand near us for years. One sign at the edge of the highway said

    COLD
    WATER
    MELON

We stopped one day and I bought a watermelon. When I put it in the car my ten year old daughter was aghast. It was just a plain old watermelon. Would I please go back and get a Cold Water Melon.

Maybe you needed to be there.

  11. Hi Olive... love your Pigs for Sale sign!... yes, I LOVE all vintage signs... I do have a vintage Eggs for Sale sign in my kitchen... and one of my best friends, our former Chief of Police here in my little town, hunts for vintage signs all the time and sells alot of them... my cousin in Louisiana emailed me a pic of one of our relatives little old farm sign, (they grow strawberries in Ponchatoula, LA) and it was a strawberry with "Vicknair Family Farm" on it... all shabby and worn... I wanted it so bad!... I am also on the look out for an old Barq's Rootbeer Sign... love how much you treasure so many of the same things I do!... xoxo Julie Marie

  15. The best vintage sign we ever had, was found at J's aunt's sale. It was hanging over the back porch door. We took it home and hung it above the garage door at the farm, thinking that would be where we would stay. It's around here someplace in J's treasures.

What was it you asked? Just simply painted red with primitive lettering, probably done by J's uncle. What was written? thisisit
I loved that sign. Perhaps I will paint another, if I can't find the original.

  16. Love the Pig's sign! Love Pat's sign above. We do have an original red screen door out of an old grocery store that still has its original signs on it. I saw one American Pickers bought and almost fainted. I'll look forward to seeing exactly how you use your sign.

  17. This is so cute, Olive! I have one or two signs inside but really love them at the lake outside. My favorite, hanging on a tree: Nude Beach!

    Love your potting area!
