I sat on the deck with the camera and snapped some of the activity around me while I painted shells yesterday. Gilding shells is not for wimps {I am a wimp when it comes to strong odors} as the paint is toxic. Shelley Boo was watching over me.
This is the basket I chased the snake out of and tried to save the baby birds from.
Sweet potato vines are in my favorite pot.

You've captured normal and pretty moments. :)
ReplyDeleteBuried toys? Awesome! My boys buried my silverware in the yard and the Yankees weren't even coming. Im still missing a few forks.
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see the gilded.
Gilded shells? Sounds like a project is coming! Shelley looks very peaceful. At least he does not dig for the toys!
ReplyDelete"Shelley Boo" is a handsome fella!!!

I wonder whose little boys left their trucks to sink in the pit. Looks like eighties vintage. Good find; great dirt patina.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to what you do with the gilded shells.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive... Shelley is so beautiful!... Tessy thinks she is in love with him... your photos are all so pretty... what kind of shells are you painting?... and what will you be doing with them?... love that toy truck you found!... how exciting you have buried treasure on your own property!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos, Olive! Love that you are finding toys! How sweet!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is beautiful! I enjoyed the rest of your pictures.
ReplyDeletei need to look into a "walking iris" --- sounds interesting. too cool!
ReplyDeletedid i miss something? why are you painting shells? so curious. ( :
Looks like there is a lot to see even when you're not looking for it. You must've had a child live on your property at one time or another. I still find old toys buried in our woods from our now 19 yr old son sometimes. LOL! They must get left outside and then covered up by the dirt from rain.
ReplyDeleteLove the view from your deck, especially the hummingbirds. We don't get them around here. The pretty plat is very unique, too.

Love the shades and colors of this post. Gorgeous yellow . . . walking iris is new to me! Beautiful Hummingbird! Buried old toys, what fun to find those treasures . . . (Just now going on and learning Bloglovin.)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful olive, Love the toy:)
ReplyDeleteYou have great views from your deck...we only have 2 hummingbirds that sporadically come around..wish I had more....
