The age of this chalk ware bird is not known but it certainly is chippy.
Chippy in the best way.
Under the chippy oval frame the bird is right at home.
Have I shared this thrifted oil painting?
We picked it up from a beauty shop that was closing.
The shade on this lamp is best seen in the shadows.
The fur kids and I are staying warm by the fire.
Hope all of you are warm and well.
Happy Weekend
Olive
Love the chippy bird. It does look right at home there. It has warmed up here and we don't plan to put the wood stove on today. The cats will be disappointed. Deb
ReplyDeleteI love anything chippy!! So pretty Olive!
ReplyDeleteHard to believe your chalkware bird is intact and so detailed. I have some little chalkware figures that seem to be melting away. The bird is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOlive I remember ornaments in chalk ware in my childhood. Favourite presents for school friends. Gosh - it must be very old like me
ReplyDeleteLove it, Olive.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right...sometimes chippy is the best....love the way you have styled your chippy bird....looks great... love the older oval gold frame on the wall.. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love that chippy bird Olive! Glad you are keeping warm by the fire. Temps have been on a roller coaster here. The last few days have been quite mild.
ReplyDeleteLove all of your latest finds. That chalk ware bird is really pretty! It sounds like a great idea to set by a fire. It has been a drizzly gloomy weekend here.
ReplyDeletePretty chippy bird and beautiful painting! I love how you have the painting displayed. Very windy and rainy here...yucky, depressing weather. I need to find my fire logs!
ReplyDeleteLove its chippy raised wings. As though poised for flight.

Your home is always so warm and welcoming..
ReplyDeleteLove, Mona
Charming as always, and I love that you (like me) refer to it as a "beauty shop."
ReplyDeleteMr Chippy is pretty fine . . . I like his taking flight pose! I hope you are enjoying the fall weather and feeling better . . .
ReplyDelete:) You just made me smile Olive. Love the chippy beauty!
ReplyDeleteThe bird is wonderful. Loved seeing your vignette snippets too, Olive. Beautiful!

I love chippy things as well, Olive! That bird looks right at home there. Such a pretty display. I can just imagine you all nice and snug by the fire!
ReplyDeleteSuch warm and welcoming color tones in the vignette. Love the bird. My favorite thing is the way the small mirror reflects the glove mold.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive... I just love your chippy bird!... hope you are staying warm... it is cold and snowy here today... xoxo Julie Marie

That is a sweet bird. And the painting is serenity itself. As always, you put everything together so well.
ReplyDeleteHi again Olive... and thanks for visiting my little vintage Putz house village... I went back in and posted that the little yellow house reminded me of yours!... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful bird and I love the way you stack books to vary the heights of things. The rosaries are very nice, too. You have a beautiful style! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love chippy!!! Very cute bird.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
The bird looks like it's about to take flight. It is lovely.
ReplyDeleteChippy is best with me too! Nice painting from the beauty salon!!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much I wish I'd known that 'chippy is best,' about 10 years ago! :-) These photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOlive , I love your new bird. Don't you wonder who loved it first, where they got it...I think of things like that. Hope all is well at your house. Sends hugs to CC from me. Blessings to all of you, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteHi Olive, do you love old chalkware as much as I do?.....the chippier the better! that bird is fabulous
ReplyDeleteChippy is the best of the best!!!! Romeo is unfazed and wants to point out that it's a bird. I tell him that, 'yes, it is a bird, but look at that patina!' Too which I get "the look", he licks his chops and tells me again, 'it's a BIRD'. Like I'm the one missing the point ;) Olive, guard your bird. Romeo has a tendency to sleep walk....
ReplyDeleteHugs,
"her"
beautiful bird fits right in with your vignette
