Hello friends.
I've been cleaning this vintage turquoise suitcase here on the deck this past week.
I really like the handle on this one.
The other distraction I had this week was three doctors appointments.
Good heavens that was enough.
While we are on the deck you might enjoy some succulents.
I leave them out all winter.
Ghost plant and antlers in a funeral basket.
What's better than that?
I cannot think of the name of this plant but the old handmade stump
it's on came from an estate sale and has lovely patina.
Edit: The plant is dischidia formosana.
An astute reader looked it up for me.
I went picking with a friend yesterday and we had the best time.
I bought a barn door.
That's a first.
joy and peace

Picking with a neighbor sounds like fun! I can remember my Aunt had turquoise luggage like that,
ReplyDeleteLove your turquoise luggage. I have succulents on my porch all year long too, I love them. That succulent in your stump is cool. I don't believe I have seen one of them, perhaps it could be found on the internet.
ReplyDeleteCan you please go back and buy the barn that went with the barn door? I have always ALWAYS wanted to convert a barn into a living space. I would really appreciate it. I will hock everything I have to pay you for it.

I didn't know you could keep succulents outside during the winter. I think they must be the easiest plants! The barn door you purchased sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive. The pot of succulents on the wonderful stump is full of such nice colors. And a barn door! Can't wait to see that!
ReplyDeleteLove the patina on the stump, as well as the flowers it holds. The suitcase is gorgeous. What a color! XOXO

ReplyDeleteHi Olive,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, I hope that your doctor's appointments were just routine and that you are feeling well.
…. and, that suitcase is wonderful …. what a colour.
Don't you just love the way those succulents tumble over the pot ? We have some in old terracotta chimney pots and one in a rusty, chippy iron urn….. I love them.
Hope that you are having a lovely Sunday.
Keep well Olive. XXXX
I love the barn stump . . . patina . . . thoughts of a barn door I can't wait to see with your twist and touch . . . I like the suitcase color, handle too . . . what fun you must have had finding treasures.
ReplyDeleteWe have snow, snow, snow . . . and I am happy . . . I will be even happier when I know those doctors appointments brought you good results . . .
I love the color of this suitcase!
ReplyDeleteGreat color on the suitcase, Olive. I so enjoyed the shopping trip, but we are going to need a bigger truck next time. Can't wait for you to tell the story of the door.

Olive, hope so much that your doctors' appointments went well. I'm not sure but I think that succulent might be called 'Jade'. We call them 'Money Trees' - apparently if you can grow them you have a good business head, which fits doesn't it.
ReplyDeleteUgh - three doctor appointments. I do not enjoy the doctor so I do not envy you. I like the suitcase the handle looks like eyes with a smile to me.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I hope you are doing okay. Hugs. MH
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to see the barn door!!! You must post a picture! Love that suitcase, Olive and you are right, that handle is so unique as is the color. I am amazed at the resilience of the succulents here in CA and I predict I am going to obsessively collect them over the years.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you are sick of the docs, I can relate to that! But they are necessary and I hope you are gradually getting better! Ann
Hey there,
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing ok...
I never know whether to bring my succulents inside or leave them out..
Love, Mona
Fabulous turquoise suitcase!!! Trust all is well with you, Olive, in spite of visiting so many doctors!

What fun! Can't wait to see your plans for the barn door! Happy Thanksgiving!!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive. I adore old luggage, and this turquoise one is so pretty. I want one! I don't like the sound of all those Doctor's appointments. I hope that it's nothing too serious my friend. I wish you a very happy and peaceful Thanksgiving, just in case I don't see you here again before then.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive. What are going to do with the barn door? I was just thinking the other day that I needed to buy a barn door to hang pictures on in my space I am renting. One of the walls is plaster and it's just too hard to put nails in to hang anything.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are doing well.

Gorgeous suitcase! I can't wait to see your barn door!
ReplyDeleteI hope your health issues are improving.
What a great color on that suitcase! I left my hens and chicks outside for winter, so we'll see if they come back in the spring. Hope the doctor's appointments went well.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive!
ReplyDeleteBarn door? Right up my alley!
Hope your doctor;s appointment went well.
Will say some prayers. Darling suitcase.
Have a lovely Thanksgiving.
