We were given a hummingbird feeder at our June yard sale and we were unaware of what joy they would bring to us.
I have been trying to get a decent photo of one of them for awhile with my extremely slow point and shoot camera.
We have expanded to two large feeders and two mini feeders. The hummers love the mini’s.
If you have never fed hummingbirds please try it next April and you will be surprised at how fun they are. They are about to migrate south for the winter.
We started with two hummers and now have about ten or twelve! I stood on a landscape timber for a long time to get this grainy photo. Regardless. I am happy with it.
These little buggers are fast and very aggressive. They fuss when I change out the feeders.

Hi Olive, your little Hummer is beautiful! I LOVE Hummingbirds and we have three feeders going at all times... they are just now getting ready to leave us for the winter and their long journey South... I get so sad each year as I blow them a kiss goodbye and say a little prayer for their safe return!... I even name mine!... xoxo Julie Marie

Great photo! I saw one this morning out on my deck in my verbena. Love the feeders, but mine seem to attract ants, bummer for me and the hummers!

ReplyDeleteI bought feeders and hoped hummingbirds would find it. I never saw one, and still have not. I all got in my water was ants. I jut gave up. Will enjoy seeing what others share.

ReplyDeleteI think your photo came out great! I can never seem to get a good shot of them. We have them here all year long because it doesn't get that cold here in the winter, although not as many as in summer. They love autumn sage as well as the feeders too!

ReplyDeleteI love hummingbirds. They are such a beautiful sweet amazing creature. I also love to read. I always tell my son, reading takes you so many places that you might not be able to go to. I read therefore I am...I like that.
