I have re-arranged the three drawer chest in our living room at the yellow house again.
Because I found another blue and white jar (the one on the right) for almost nothing on Saturday.
On one side of the pineapple lamp, which is not going any where, is my blue side.
The other side, the white side, is filled with our milk glass which I have shown before.
I have added a Madonna and a tree trunk with bird vintage piece.
This last image is of our window seat. I have pulled the drapes back.
I like being able to see all three of the windows.
However, I am not sure of these very stiff drapes. They just do not drape softly.
I bought them for five dollars at a thrift store and they match the cornice board so well I thought why not?
What do you think?
Drapes down or pulled back like shown?

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteI love the drapes pulled back and what a find. I would have never guessed the thrift store. I love that pineapple lamp. Thanks for coming by and I love your saying imbrace imperfection :) That vase is pretty and you know whats funny, I have a huge pot that matches it :)
Have a happy day my friend.
I think your house is lovely Olive and I love blue and white together
ReplyDeleteHi Olive,
ReplyDeleteIt all looks fantastic!! Love the blue and white and love the drapes!
They match the cornice perfectly!
Hugs,
Cindy
The drapes do match the cornice well but I think I would leave them down.
ReplyDeleteI too love the pineapple lamp.
Gorgeous pieces Olive. I wish I had more white...I have plenty of blues and barely white. Your last shot is so pretty. THanks for the comment on my blog...so kind!
ReplyDeleteOh Olive, I think I'd leave them pulled back! Love your beautiful window and what a great find those drapes were girl! Perfect match and love the crisp blue and white~
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Nancy

Olive,
ReplyDeleteDrapes hanging straight down gets my vote. Everything is gorgeous!
You have so many pretty pieces on your table. Love the blue and white.
ReplyDeleteI love the way those drapes look. I love window seats.
ReplyDeleteAll of your blue and white is so pretty. You really do have some wonderful pieces and I really like the way you put the blue on one side and the white on the other. That lamp is stunning. I like the drapes pulled back. If you don't like it maybe you can create finger golds with the fabric and they will tie back easier. The are so pretty. Thanks so much for linking to TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI like the drapes open. I am from the old days when you raised the windows and kept everything opened. I want the to see the light.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I used to have a jar just like the one on the far left, wonder what happened to it....Christine
ReplyDeleteLovely, Olive! I'm amazed how the drapes match the cornice! What a find! Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your nice comments!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue and white items.. I like the drapes back as it seems to allow the most light to come in.. you got a great deal on those and them matching the cornice so well is amazing~!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting me and leaving such a nice comment..
I like the drapes pulled back so that you can see that charming bay window!

Hi Olive...
ReplyDeleteI love how you did your drawer chest! Pretty blues and white...so classic, you can never go wrong! Your pineapple lamp is gorgeous!
Well my friend, I just couldn't believe my eyes when I looked at your window, drapes, and bench. I have the exact same thing going on in my dining room. The exact window and I also use a bench underneath it. I have long gold drapes which I usually leave hanging to the side of my bench but I do occasionally drape them back. I too have drapery holds. Anyway, I just giggled! I love, love, LOVE your beautiful matching cornice board...very pretty! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us. You'll have to come by and take a peek at my dining room (I posted a couple of days ago). I have a photo of my window and bench!
Warmest autumn wishes,

Hi Olive...love the blues and whites...so crisp and pretty! Your table vignette is wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteKeep the drapes pulled back for awhile, then pull them down for awhile. You'll be able to decide after some time passes.

OK Miss Olive-
ReplyDeleteYou know I love blue and white, and yours looks great.
That is a beautiful window too!
Laura
I think the drapes are wonderfully matched, and I do like them pulled back. Your pottery is lovely, and I have that exact same metal flower bucket in my living room!
ReplyDeleteOlive, did I read that right? The cornices were already there, and the "matching" drapes were a $5 find?!!! Wow! They look like they were made for each other. What a lucky find. I think it would be a shame to cover any of that gorgeous window. Your blue and white and white vignettes are so pretty, and I love that blue and white piece in the window. laurie
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you should put the drapes down sometimes and pull them back other times. Maybe change it out with the weather, season, time of day, ambience you are trying to create.
ReplyDeleteThat's my final answer.
The drapes are really pretty. Great find, Olive!
I definately like the drapes pulled back. I like to see the outside too. They look great the way you have them pulled back to me and they do match your cornice really well. Love your white pineapple light too!
ReplyDeletei love drapes to bring in the light to the room. your house is beautiful. love the accesories. rose
ReplyDeleteI like the drapes pulled back. I always want lots of light and view of the outside. I like how you did a white side and a blue side.
