Olive Bucket Images Not Easy For Olive

The owner of the consignment store where I bought the aqua chest said I could not take photos with my Rebel camera. Her reason was she has two bloggers with booths there. I believe she lacks understanding of the generosity of bloggers. It felt like the time the man got mad at me for taking a picture of eggplants at the farmers market. When I decided to buy the aqua chest the booth owner said I could take photos with my iPhone.
Glory be.

The olive bucket
I want it but it is not priced for me.
I had no idea how large they are.
If I cannot have it, I at least wanted photos of it.

This display was in a hallway and particularly soft and pretty with the different shades of green.

This is the four drawer aqua chest we put in our bedroom.
I have bought a couple of funeral baskets from this vendor before.
I like her style.

You can see the aqua chest in the previous post in our dark cave of a room.

joy and peace

  2. Love the olive bucket. I keep seeing them at the flea market but have yet to get one. It seems like by the time I see them, I am out of money.

Looks like this shop has some great stuff!

  4. I have never been to a consignment shop with booths. The one I go to is just packed full of stuff everyone drops off, like me. Then they sell it and I get 50%. Can't believe she wouldn't let you use your camera.
    Nice chest.

  5. You did just fine with your photos, Olive. Nice shots. So, you can't use your camera, but you can use your iPhone? Hmmm, same difference to me.

  6. Wow the color of the chest really is aqua. I just painted a small piece of furniture that color ~ love it. So why do olive buckets have vents? I've never seen one before either.

  12. I LOVE the bucket! I would have been crying if I couldn't take it home with me! It would be great for magazines, etc.

I always ask if I can take pictures and I get really embarrassed if I'm told no!! But what is with the guy and his eggplant?!!

    XO,

  15. The first time I saw an olive bucket I was surprised by its size also. You'd think lugging around that many olives would be heavy.

  16. Great consignment shop, and your iphone pictures are terrific. I'm curious what she's asking for her olive bucket because someone sells them at an antique store here. Love to comparison shop!

  17. I would love to have those creels!!!

I've only been turned down once for photos. I keep trying when I am there, though.

Would like to know the eggplant reasoning.;-)

  24. I had never even heard of olive buckets until Kim at Savvy Southern Style got one. Then I saw them in Pottery Barn or some catalog I get! Are they a new decorating item?

    1. They are really to collect olives in Europe but I could certainly use one to decorate with Carlene. They have that partly industrial look.

  28. It's the typewriter that is catching my eye. Would love to own an old one just for a hallway display. Glad you got the chest your heart desired. That's always nice when that happens. :-)

  30. I feel your picture taking pain. Can you believe one lonely vendor at Brimfield told me "no pics". Hello? I am showcasing your fabulous stuff on my blog! Oh well, you managed to capture the beauty of that booth - and I too now want an olive bucket!

P.S. Clovis reminds me of my childhood cat - Casey O'Toole!

  31. I love that second pictured vignette, Olive! The colors and all the display items, too. I know how strange people can be and I've taken to asking when I go into an antique mall here if it is okay if I take pictures. What's one more person taking pictures even if booth owners are bloggers ~ it is more publicity for them.

  32. One of those buckets is on my wish list (if I can find one at a good price). This looks like a great shop...glad you had photos to share!

  33. My sis and I were at the Alameda Antique Fair (best in the West) and they were $60 for one and $80 for two. We each got one! Yippee. Hers is next to her fireplace for wood and mine is by my front door with a shabby looking tree. I've always loved them! Great as a hanging light fixture also. Get one!
