One of you my friends mentioned that our kitchen island looked like a store display cabinet. Well honey child I have filled this display cabinet to the brim. Besides what I already had in there, cake pedestals, transferware, and other bits I added this cornucopia and a copper whipping bowl.
I am in no danger of whipping egg whites. If I did whip egg whites they do whip better in a copper bowl. I am prepared. I bought both of these new additions at an estate sale. I paid little for them.
This is the view from the other side of the island through the old windows. The copper bowl adds a warm tone I like. I am putting the brakes on this "store display." Promise.
happy thrifting

You were so fortunate to get a copper whipping bowl at a reasonable price - why don't you give the bowl a try? - make some meringues and see how successful you are. Meringues, with cream and strawberries - delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour "store display" is so pretty Olive. I love those windows!
ReplyDeleteGood Afternoon Olive, I love the windows on your kitchen island...keeping all your treasures in view, but dust free. I have to say, I really like your copper bowl....I would love to own one, but they are rather expensive ...... how fabulous that you got yours at a good price.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
Daphne
If it were a store display, I would buy every last thing!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive, I love what you’ve done with you display. It’s lovely and your friend sure was giving you a great compliment! I’ve tried to make my hutch look like displays in candy shops. It’s fun to rearrange displays and vignettes. Love the pink transferware in the basket and what a great copper bowl! Did I ever tell you I have the same piece you have, the pitcher (not sure what it is for) with the pink blooms, “Springtime”? I have a few pieces that were my mom’s and I treasure them.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Saturday Olive.

I think it looks great, and what a wonderful area to always be changing it up. That's what a display place is all about:)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect place to display all things you find to be beautiful! Love the glass doors.

Olive, No need to put the brakes on, we want to see more as you tweak it. If we can't have that island, we want to look at yours. Have a great weekend. Ann
ReplyDeleteIt is just perfect!!! I love it; and I adore that copper bowl, too! You did a fabulous job on this project!
ReplyDeleteNancy
I'd like the glass cake plate please and two of the red transferware plates. If you could wrap them up that would be nice. Oh, and I prefer paper over plastic bags :)
ReplyDeleteI saw your recent finds on Instagram and I am so jealous!!! I'm hoping yard sale season will be starting up next weekend.
I say Hello Beautiful! The display is gorgeous and to say it is like a store display is a great compliment. Store people are just artists at arranging pretty things and it looks like you've got the touch too.
ReplyDeleteDon't put the brakes on for me, it looks gorgeous! Everything is light and clear so it doesn't look cluttered at all. The copper and blue and whites just add the perfect pop of color. I love it! The window front is wonderful!

ReplyDeleteI do not own one piece of copper. Is that weird? Should I have some? Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteSurely you can squeeze a couple more treasures in there. It looks wonderful! Maybe, you missed your calling as a retail display artist!
ReplyDeleteHi Olive. Your display looks beautiful. So many pretty and useful things. I spied that little cow creamer, which I liked from a previous post. I always think that lemons look great when displayed in a kitchen. Hope you're having a peaceful weekend over there.
