Good Morning Friends.
I am taking a gardening break and hanging out at the old house,
with Joe and Shelley, the rest of the week.
Time slows down here and that is good.
Speaking of hanging out...look back there on the wall of the yellow house kitchen.
I hung three thrifted platters on the wall.
Two are ironstone and one is a Wedgewood piece.
The kitchen is getting a definite cottage look.
I used English invisible disc plate hangers to hang the platters
and they worked beautifully.
I am off to the consignment store to drop off items.
See y'all in a little while.

I love this look and the kitchen really does look amazing. Great pictures. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteLove your yellow kitchen. Platters on the wall are the best!
ReplyDeleteit's so bright in there. i love it. great & so cozy. ( :
ReplyDeleteI have some of those disc hangers also. I have some plates on my gallery wall with old time hangers and the real expensive plates with the disc hangers. I'm still nervous about my high dollar transferware being hung with them, however Nancy's Daily dish gal uses them
ReplyDeleteLove dishes on the wall! Paired with your amazing island...it all looks so pretty Olive!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Cindy
I love cottage style kitchens! Yours most definitely fits in that category too. I immediately noticed the pretty floral picture on the wall as well. Love it! Platters are a must in a cottage kitchen. They look great there.
ReplyDeleteYour cottage kitchen is so pretty! Have a relaxing time there.
ReplyDeletelove that look of plates and platters on the wall. also that rose painting next to it. I don't know how you keep up with two houses!!??
ReplyDeleteWhat are invisible disk plate hangers? - I mean, I can guess they hang plates without showing, but I've never seen them. Where did you find them?
ReplyDeleteWish I was waiting at the thrift store to root through your goodies you're dropping off! I'll bet it's some good loot!
I think the cottage look works beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThey all look so good together. Enjoy your break.
ReplyDeleteI love platters almost obsessively! Well, I love bowls too, but I can't resist platters, especially English ones. My favorites are the old Grindley china ones. I have never seen the invisible discs either. I think my husband might fuss if I hung another platter without taking down some off my walls so now I stack them.
ReplyDeleteYours are so pretty!
Between your curtains, the painting and your plates you definitely have a cottage theme going on in there. And I like it! Enjoy your time at the old house. Don't run Shelley around too much.
ReplyDeleteI love your cottage look...wonderful!! Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice, love the rays of sunshine and the shadows they create . . . I really like your platters, great idea for some art for the "yellow house."
ReplyDeleteYour platters look wonderful Olive, you picked the perfect spot for them. Im still loving your curtains too:)
ReplyDeleteHi Olive... I just love those platters!... definitely a pretty cottage look!... what a lovely place you have to relax in... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love the whole scene. What a happy home!
ReplyDeleteI hate that you can't get on IG anymore but glad I have you here :)
Enjoy the peace Olive. This is a good week to take a breather. Ann
ReplyDeleteLove the look you have going on there with those gorgeous curtains, the vintage painting, and the platters. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully bright kitchen! I love the platters and the painting of the pretty yellow roses on that perfect shade of yellow wall. The color on the wall reminds me of the movie Mr. Blandings Dreamhouse where Myrna Loy tells the painter that she wanted the yellow on the wall to be color of the best country butter.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you hung the plates! Your kitchen looks so pretty and inviting.

Hey Olive; Your Home looks Lovely as Always!!! So Beautiful, Comfortable, and so Inviting.
ReplyDeleteLove the painting - reminds me one that used to hang in Grandma K's house.
ReplyDeleteSo sunny & cheery! I've seen those disc holders but never used them, I love how they don't show or scratch the edges of the plates or platters.
