Joe went to an estate sale without me two weekends ago.
He knows I adore vintage linens.
He bought them without having any actual knowledge of vintage linens.
The above tablecloth was in perfect condition.
He may have paid a bit too much but that is fine.
Monogrammed damask napkins with the letter "D".
Joe does know that I do not care what initials are on them.
He also bought four embroidered crocheted edge pillow cases that I have yet to iron.
joy and peace

The floral tablecloth is a beauty. I have several kind of like it that my Grandma used to call "lunch cloths".
ReplyDeleteYay Joe, quite lovely they are.
ReplyDeleteI always have a big smile; your vintage was my childhood. We had such a tablecloth. The whole bottom drawer of the buffet contained tablecloths, which had to be either changed or shaken out and replaced after each meal. I love looking over your treasures; they make me smile.
ReplyDeleteHello, Olive
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely that Joe knows you so well and cares about making you happy.

How sweet of Joe to bring you things he knows you love!
ReplyDeleteClearly he has learned by osmosis. Way to go Joe!
ReplyDeleteThe table cloth is lovely...great job Joe!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the same tablecloth my step mother owns. I always love her table when she uses it. :-)
ReplyDeleteHe did GREAT! You'll have to give him a Yankee dime! It seems like any vintage linen with a little red in it, costs more! Beautiful...everything!
ReplyDelete"D" for Darling Joe!
ReplyDeleteWHAT A MAN!! He did really good.
ReplyDeleteJudy
Now that is true love!
ReplyDeleteBec x
What a sweetheart to know just what you like. He did good!!
ReplyDeleteLove is .....knowing someone so well and buying exactly what they would buy themselves. Joe got it right. My O/H called in at the recycling centre a few days and came back with a bag of plants. Someone was just about to tip them into the compost skip .... and they are lovely. He knew that I would like them.
ReplyDeleteThat Joe is a keeper, isn't he???

Those are nice. My husband wouldn't have a clue.
ReplyDeleteLove the colorful tablecloth, how nice that he came home with goodies:@)
ReplyDeleteAwwww......How sweet! My husband would NEVER do anything like that! He might try to buy me a new gun or fishing rod, but vintage linens? Never. Ha!
ReplyDeleteYou have taught Joe well!
ReplyDeleteDarling Joe is definitely a keeper ~ what a sweetie.
ReplyDeleteGlad good ole Joe came through for you, my husband would never do that!
ReplyDeleteIn the language of old vocabulary cards "Joe did good"!
ReplyDelete:)

That's what I was gonna say....He done REAL good!
ReplyDeleteLovely linens, Olive!
Do you rent Joe out? What lovely finds, those monogrammed items are in perfect condition. Joe did good. Ann
ReplyDeleteJoe really knows the way to your heart. What a guy! These are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteXO,

For someone who doesn't know anything about vintage linens, Joe did a pretty darn good job of finding them! You are a lucky girl. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteSounds like Joe and Mr.CC have something in common...GOOD linen pickers!! Love what you got for ya.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Way to shop, Joe!! You found some great pieces!
ReplyDeleteBabs
I have the same love too for vintage linens and looks like he picked up your gift as well for spotting a good find.
ReplyDeleteHope each day will find you feeling better, I know its a long process to recovery. When one has as much energy as you do, its awful to have to keep still while the mind races with wants-to-do.
Stay put and take this time to recoup.
I have picked up a few of these lately at the local flea market - any tips on how to remove yellow stains?
ReplyDeleteOlive, That was so sweet of Joe. We all like unexpected gifts:) Plus be something we are crazy about is wonderful. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteJoe made great choices. I really like that vintage tablecloth. Trust your recovering well??

What a guy. My husband, although very talented in many ways, wouldn't know a pillow case from a table cloth. :o)
ReplyDeleteI love this post...he is a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteYour Joe is a sweetie pie. Love that he did that for you. How are you feeling?
