Platters

Good Morning Friends.
I am taking a gardening break and hanging out at the old house,
with Joe and Shelley, the rest of the week.
Time slows down here and that is good.

Speaking of hanging out...look back there on the wall of the yellow house kitchen.
I hung three thrifted platters on the wall.
Two are ironstone and one is a Wedgewood piece.
The kitchen is getting a definite cottage look.

I used English invisible disc plate hangers to hang the platters
and they worked beautifully.

I am off to the consignment store to drop off items.
See y'all in a little while.

  4. I have some of those disc hangers also. I have some plates on my gallery wall with old time hangers and the real expensive plates with the disc hangers. I'm still nervous about my high dollar transferware being hung with them, however Nancy's Daily dish gal uses them

  9. What are invisible disk plate hangers? - I mean, I can guess they hang plates without showing, but I've never seen them. Where did you find them?

Wish I was waiting at the thrift store to root through your goodies you're dropping off! I'll bet it's some good loot!

  12. I love platters almost obsessively! Well, I love bowls too, but I can't resist platters, especially English ones. My favorites are the old Grindley china ones. I have never seen the invisible discs either. I think my husband might fuss if I hung another platter without taking down some off my walls so now I stack them.

    Yours are so pretty!

  13. Between your curtains, the painting and your plates you definitely have a cottage theme going on in there. And I like it! Enjoy your time at the old house. Don't run Shelley around too much.

  21. What a beautifully bright kitchen! I love the platters and the painting of the pretty yellow roses on that perfect shade of yellow wall. The color on the wall reminds me of the movie Mr. Blandings Dreamhouse where Myrna Loy tells the painter that she wanted the yellow on the wall to be color of the best country butter.

  25. So sunny & cheery! I've seen those disc holders but never used them, I love how they don't show or scratch the edges of the plates or platters.
