Vintage Handkerchiefs

Vintage handkerchiefs
obtained at an estate sale, on Saturday, from the nicest family.
They also gave me free plants.

Notice the delicate cut work on this hankie.

The purple and green on this one is a charming combination.

The cream colored urn came from the same sale.
I am keeping it.
Yay

  5. Oh lucky you! I love vintage hankies! Such charming details! What about the free plants? What'd ya get? Enquiring minds and all *winks* I also think the pedestal bowl is going to be perfect for so many vignetting opportunities with it's sculptural shape. You done good! Vanna

P.S. Why are you allergic to etsy? I wanna know....Anything I should look out for?

    1. They gave me free ghost plants ( a succulent). I think etsy is wonderful and I could spend tons of money there-that's what I am scared of.

  8. My mother always carried a hankie in her purse ~ not uncommon for that generation. She had a beautiful hand painted hanky box she kept them in. Thanks for the memory (:

  13. Loving the color combos! Love all of them, but the monogrammed one...that one is nothing to sneeze at! Real hankies are just so much nicer than a kleenex.

  14. Olive,
Somewhere I have a couple of my grandmother's. I shall have to go on a hunt. I can picture a little vignette of some of her hankies, gloves and costume jewelry. I like the urn too.

  21. Your hankies are so pretty, nice to decorate with and to display, but I'm so glad we don't use them anymore.
When I just got married my husband still used them, one by one they ended up in the bin.
    Thank goodness for kleenex!
    Hugs,
    Angela.
