Happy Friday My Fine Feathered Friends
CC and I made Chocolate Birds Nests badly yesterday.
I will not be sharing the recipe.
I ran across these six Homer Laughlin China platters at our Catholic thrift store.
I love them.
I cannot lift them.
But I love them.
Next time I melt chocolate in a double boiler I will slow down and let the water simmer.
I have a need for speed.
It must come from working in that fast paced hospital.
Have a terrific weekend.
joy and peace and good chocolate
Olive
I am sure that they taste delicious anyway.
ReplyDeleteLooking good to me. I havn't tried this, but I am sure they taste super. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI am coveting the ironstone, and the chocolate looks just fine :^)
ReplyDeleteWhat a frustrating time you've been having! Looks like you are all sorted out? You so deserve those wonderful platters. Your nests are cute. Hope your shoulder improves soon. Those injuries can last such a long time.

ReplyDeleteAh yes, chocolate is all about timing. Love the plates! ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteI've been melting chocolate in the microwave lately...it always goes quickly and no worries about steam getting into it and having it seize.!
ReplyDeleteI bet they taste good.
I hate when things don't turn out like I hoped! But you know what they say practice makes perfect. I'm sure they were still yummy, Laura
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to tell kids don't taste it, just eat it. These appear to be don't look at them, just enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteWell, those chocolate birds nests certainly look yummy to me my friend!! I just adore chocolate!
ReplyDeleteMmmm...they look delicious, Olive! Now I'm going to look up recipes and make my own...:)
ReplyDeleteNice try Olive!!!

What a bummer...when things don't turn out like we want to. Ironstone is flying out the doors in my booth....LOVE it too!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
I am always rushed as well, but as long it tastes good, then so be it! Ann
ReplyDeleteDon't think they look bad at all! And if I can post about bacon balls... I think adding a recipe would have been fine! Happy Weekend:@)
ReplyDeleteI know what you were going for, but did they at least taste good? Ha! You get an A for effort though. I have some plates that are heavy like that. By the time you put your food on there, you fear you might drop it!
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me! I bought some ironstone plates today from a customer:) We did a horse trade:)
ReplyDelete"She" always says doesn't matter what it looks like, it's how it tastes! As for the plates....yep, "she" loves those too. Me? Well I'm wondering why there is no snacks on there for Clovis and I......
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Romeo
I am sure they taste good!
ReplyDeleteIt must be nearly Easter :)
ReplyDeleteYou're at least one up on me; I've never made chocolate nests!
