Waffle Glass Butter Dish

Found at an estate sale for six dollars.
When I die CC can have an estate sale with an entire table of them.
I may have a slight over the top affinity for butter dishes.

No rule of mine says a butter dish has to live in the dining room.

Do you ever place a kitchen or dining item in a living space?
Do tell.

  1. well, it is beautiful and being a dome, it does not look like a tradtional butter dish. I have teapots and creamers in the living room.

  2. Ann said exactly what I was going to say (: I haven't heard the term 'waffle glass'. Is it cut or pressed?

  3. It's very pretty, and was a good price too! And yes, I have crystal decanters I use for mouthwash, glass biscuit jars I use for Q-tips, and a butter dish on the bookshelf that holds pretty rocks found by my children. Using thins in unexpected places makes them more noticeable.

    Just use them!

  13. What fascinates me is that butter used to be molded round and now it is only in sticks. Wonder why they changed.

  19. Absolutely! I have a cabinet full of white dishes in my family room! I like the shape of that butter dish. It's round instead of rectangular. I think it's pretty with the lamp light shining on it.

  23. Love your butter dish Olive! I have an affinity for odd pieces of flatware with flowers on them. I picked a few pieces last week at a consignment store and thought I should put them in a vase where I can see them rather than in a drawer :)

  24. such a pretty little dish....and yes, I like to use things all over my house for different purposes than what they were made for...maybe it's the rebel in me. :-) and egg cup for Qtips...an old ashtray for soap dish...another old ashtray for jewelry on my dresser.....and on and on...it's what makes a house our own..using and placing things exactly where we want them to go...your picture within a frame on the wall is so lovely...one of my favorite ways to hang frames..
