Wild Lush Flower Garden

Twelve inches of rain in the last three days has resulted in a wild and lush look in our flower garden. Our gravel road also completely washed out Sunday night. Several roads around here are closed for the same reason.

We were about to power wash these patio tiles but the heavy rain did it for us.

These are no ordinary hydrangeas they are hydrangeas that I propagated by the layering method last year.  I could not be more happy to see those blooms.

Our first Oak Leaf bloom. I find them lovely. All these hydrangeas need to be moved and I will move them this fall. They are too close together.

The gravel road on Monday morning looked like this. Four hours after I took this photo and four truck loads of gravel and sand later it was repaired. Just in time for a full day of rain today. Our efficient neighbor gets all the credit. We simply write a check.

Peach 23 Yard Sale: The Goods

The Peach 23 Yard Sale was something serious my peeps. Question is was it a yard sale or a marathon? It's a little of both and I did not make the finish line. Not even after six and a half hours and thirty miles. How about that? Read more about the sale here.

The French bust may have to stay with me for a time. The white chippy plant stand was $5.00. The cream hutch was $5.00 too.

An old crazed English bowl with a Cotswold cottage on it that could not be sweeter. It was $6.00.

Carolyn Westbrook's 2012 book for $2.00. I am really drinking in the pages of this book. It is staying home with me and the bust.

 Donna {who actually posted over the weekend}and I could have arm wrestled over this triptych. It's a Florentine religious piece and it is staying here for a spell too. I have built a collection of Florentine pieces recently. Repeat after me. Olive Is A Bad Seller.  We have acknowledged that and can move on.

This Italian mirror is my find for the day at $10.00. It is missing the corresponding left leg, shown here, but the seller is looking for it. I am going to see her later today. It may be seen in my dining room for a spell. I am horrid.

Was getting up at 5 A.M. worth it? Was having no coffee {screaming headache} worth it? Was coming home hyped up and exhausted worth it?

Peach 23 Yard Sale

In the morning at o'dark thirty The Rust Godess, CC, and I are heading to the Peach 23 Yard Sale on Highway 23. We plan to start in Ridge Spring and go as far as Edgefield, South Carolina.

The Rust Godess {Donna} has been to this sale before. I asked her {horned my way in is more like it} if I could join her as she is an expert. Plus she has an SUV she could put a coffin in. 

I likely will not take many photos during the yard sale as it is hard core but I will take photos afterwards of our goodies for you.

DECK SCENES

 I sat on the deck with the camera and snapped some of the activity around me while I painted shells yesterday. Gilding shells is not for wimps {I am a wimp when it comes to strong odors} as the paint is toxic. Shelley Boo was watching over me.

 We always have birds flying around the deck and hummers at the mini feeders every minute.

This is the basket I chased the snake out of and tried to save the baby birds from.

 For those of you who had never seen a Walking Iris this is what it looks like at dawn. Where it is touching the ground it will make another plant.

We continue to find toys buried on our property. It's exciting to dig them up.

Sweet potato vines are in my favorite pot.
