I do not go to our local mall but when faced with sitting for hours in a car dealership in another city one hundred miles away I will visit their mall. The Mini Cooper dealership gave us a ride to this mall that happened to have a Pottery Barn. I also took my camera in my big old shopping bag, just in case. I asked permission to take non-flash photography of their tables in the front from a staff person in the back. It was granted as everyone does it with smart phones and never asks she said.
Enjoy
Can you tell all these dishes and glasses are plastic?
The manager popped out from behind the cash register when he saw my Canon Rebel and asked "Are you from Restoration Hardware?" I chuckled at that and said "No."
As if CC and I look like we are from Restoration Hardware.

It all looks like Olive did it. How nice you only had to snap the shutter and review the pix. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteI take pictures every time I go into Pottery Barn. There's so much to see and so much inspiration. I really like that the outdoor plates are plastic. Would have never guessed it though.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Pottery Barn this weekend too! I never buy anything...just look. I think I saw the same table setting at mine...it was really pretty. Funny that the manager thought you were from another store!! Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are professional enough to be in a magazine! I've never been to a Pottery Barn store! But all of the beachy things are so neat....I think I'll peek online!
ReplyDeleteRestoration Hardware! Ha! You should have said you are going to put pictures on your blog and where is your commission for the free advertising for PB?
ReplyDeleteGREAT PICTURES! You should have told the manager you were the photographer from "ROMANTIC HOMES". MAYBE he would have wined & dines you, hehe! HEY we are ALL dreamers here!
ReplyDeleteHave a FUN WEEK,
Big Hugs,
Donna
A fantastic collection of photos and no I really couldn't tell that the dishes and glasses are made of plastic - they look good.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos Olive especially the mosaic. I have no idea what Restoration Hardware is?
ReplyDeleteAaah, now I have some inspiration for some summer ideas.... don't buy from PB, but love to look and try to copy. I think you should have told them you were from Walmart... Ann
DeleteRosemary, it is another store but has a neutral color palette and higher prices than PB. I go to both their outlets here in Georgia and only buy something if it is greatly reduced. RH is online. I get the catalog just to look at how they style a room. I prefer PB.
DeleteAs always, your photos are fab! I am so done with this blogging for myself. I even paid someone to fix it and it is not fixed. Tried to delete cookies, didn't work. Added new address as suggested, didn't work. Downright added Wordpress and created a new blog and hate it. I will not start over. I miss this form of expression but I guess I will just have to create at the shop and leave this for you big wheels. I will continue to follow of course. Just mad at blogspot and myself for not being computer literate enough to do it.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I am so sorry this happened to you. It can be frustrating. I think Wordpress takes getting used to but many I follow seem to like it. I need to totally re-do my bog and template but am scared to start that whole deal. I am a little wig and happy to be.
DeleteWell - there you go...at least you were able to entertain yourselves.
ReplyDeleteI want that beverage dispenser with the apples in it. There's an outlet about an hour from here that I go to once or twice a year, but I rarely go into the real stores. Funny that he thought you were form Restoration Hardware. I'm sure neither one of those stores has to steal ideas from each other.
ReplyDeleteI would think the store would be thrilled with the free publicity. The displays do look very nice.
ReplyDeleteI have to go to our store this week to return to pillow covers my daughter gave me for Mother's day. Just not the right color. She tried.
ReplyDeleteI go to the one in St. Louis and just stare. so much to take in. love those little buckets with all the accessories. I'm still laughing about you being a mole from RH!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Olive!... I love seeing all of the red, white and blue!... thanks for sharing, xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos and wonderful table inspiration, Olive. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think you should have said "yes", he probably would have bought you lunch:@)
ReplyDeleteI love looking around at PB too. We have one locally but i've only been in there a handful of times. I do love shopping the catalogs. Their rooms are always so pretty. Gives me lots of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOlive, Those table settings are all so nice. It would be easy to be tempted to buy things. Smiles, Susie
ReplyDeleteOlive, these photos are wonderful inspiration! I love all of the red white and blue, and that seaside table is so pretty. Thanks for all of the inspiration. (That's so funny that he asked about you being from RH)! laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Olive,
ReplyDeleteI just became a new follower. Thank you for your comment. Yes, remodeling is a pain. We have some kitchen repairs to do and I just keep putting it off. I love your post. I love PB. What great resources they have. Thanks for visiting today at My Cozy Corner. See you soon.

PB is a great source for inspiration, isn't it. We don't have one nearby, would have to travel or look online.
ReplyDeleteI always sneak pics from PB! My daughter is now a co-conspiritor! Love the Coca-cola bucket!
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration to keep you occupied for hours!
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
Oh I love to browse their stores, there isn't one close to me, but when I do get near one I love to sneak pics and I really enjoy the way they display everything. Great pics. Loved the tour. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love the inspiration I get at Pottery Barn. Wouldn't it be great to be one of their stylists?! Hope your car woes are over.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
I love the inspiration from Pottery Barn. We no longer have a store nearby so I don't often get to peek. Thanks for taking us there.
ReplyDelete- The Tablescaper
I took photos of some of the red white and blue stuff PB had also! I am trying to recreate that patriotic look on my sun porch table! PB is a wealth of inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm sure you looked so like a spy with your fancy dancy camera! :)
ReplyDeleteThose are some wonderful snaps you took.
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)
Oh so glad you went to Pottery Barn and shared your pictures, so inspirational.
ReplyDeleteOlive~ I took some of the same pics of the shell table & the RW&B with my smart phone, WITHOUT asking permission :) While my wallet doesn't always love it, I do love me some PB~ the merchandising and STUFF!
ReplyDeleteI do love to go into a Pottery Barn for inspiration. I don't live near one now, so I have to be content to drool over the catalogs. Your wonderful pics gave me an idea for a patriotic tablescape.
ReplyDeleteLove the coastal table setting.
ReplyDeleteYou should have told 'em you were from WalMart!
Deb
P.S. I love PB's style.
You can't beat Pottery Barn for displays! If only we had unlimited money to snap up all their goodies. I liked the hobnail plastic glasses. Hope you got the Mini fixed, Laura
ReplyDeleteHi Olive, one place I love for a little retail therapy! They always have beautiful tablescapes and l've shared snaps from there too. I never make good pics in shops, always feel like I'm doing something I shouldn't. I love to "just look" and hope my favorites will end up on sale. A great place to unwind and get away from a car dealership. Did you get the Mini? My DIL just bought one and she loves, loves, loves it. It's so cute…………….

Thanks for all the eye candy!

I'm always inspired at Pottery Barn. I haven't been in a couple of months, so I'm loving your photos. Great shots, BTW. How fun to have a Mini Cooper. Neat car! Thanks for taking us shopping with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me window shop at my computer! I won a gift certificate to pottery barn and still need to go pick up something. Now I see lots of things that I could go for, actually I could just take it all!
ReplyDeletePottery Barn is like my Disney World. Love that store. Thanks for sharing and I'm your newest follower stopping by from Wow Us Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI love Pottery Barn table scapes. Thanks for the look - I haven't been there is quite some time!
