Hi Olive. We have found several little nests like that around our garden, and when you actually look at all the work that the little birds put into them, it really is amazing. Thank you for popping over to see me at my place today. Gosh, private or semi private wards! How wonderful. If only!! I also wanted to say what a beautiful profile photo you have now. You look fabulous, with such a warm and pretty smile. Hugs.
Dear live, I have always loved birds nests ever since I was a child but, I am always a little sad when I see one on the floor as I wonder what happened ..... did the eggs hatch ? ...... Is the Mother bird OK ? .... and, why is it on the floor ? Sorry Olive, that sounds a little maudling.....I'm sure that your birds nest was finished with and the baby birds are enjoying the summer !! Hope that you are well Olive ..... I've been absent for a while as my computer gave up on me and I'm now getting used to my shiny new MacBook Pro. I hope to be back on track soon. XXXX
I love discovering little nests like these even more so when there are little birds in them. Hope these little birdies had a safe exit - I have to watch our two cats with anything low down.
So peaceful and a work of art Olive. I have many of our wrens nests around and am always so impressed when I get a close up look at them, quite the architects! What bird do you think used/built that nest? Ann
I am always amzed by them too...I started putting out some lint from the dryer for the birds and noticed them taking it for their nests...now they have some softness for their babies!
ah nature at its best!... so very cute and clever. I love how wildlife knows exactly what to do and how to do it.. much like a spider spinning an intricate web! I love visiting your blog.. thankyou. Bec x
That is so precious Olive... I will send wishes that the sweet little baby birdies are happily flying around your beautiful home... xoxo Julie Marie

ReplyDeleteOlive,
ReplyDeleteI kept the nest the robins made in the spring. It is surprising how well they are made! I am using mine as a garden decoration....
I like your found object scapes. Or thrifty buy scapes. Charming.

ReplyDeleteI know.... and gosh, it takes a lot of work to find all of those dried sticks to make the nest just perfect.

Oh it is so sweet Olive!
ReplyDeleteA real bird's nest always intrigues me! Yours is a real treasure, and I love it under your cloche.

Well it almost looks "store bought"! LOL! Just precious and I adore how you have it displayed. I love nature, don't you?
ReplyDeleteBird's nest yes...wasp nest no!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog facelift. You're such a pro.

Indeed Olive, I do love it! I rarely find nests, unless I spot them high up in a tree, and I'm not much of a climber.

I also love bird nests. It's so nice to bring a little of nature inside the home. This one is beautiful!
