Chippy Wire Umbrella

We are finally home, after four cities in four days, one of those stops was a family emergency and we are very tired.

The biggest city was Atlanta and we finally got to go to IKEA. We bought a blue and white striped hammock and it looks great.

 So let's look at some more estate sale finds if you want to!

The chippy umbrella came from an estate sale that took checks. Woot. I made a tower of items, those green baskets from the previous post were found there too. Joe bought tools. Imagine that.

The little Dutch pitcher was four dollars at the splendid sale from two weeks ago. And really I behaved because there was an entire shelf of these blue and white pieces.

I did spray the umbrella and wire baskets with some clear polyurethane to prevent further rusting.
Yes it is broken but I do not mind one bit.

The needle point purse was found at the Salvation Army last year.

Estate Sale Finds Arranged

The little metal flower arrangement I bought at the estate sale, noted in the previous post, was placed on the round coffee table just for giggles.

I like it there.

I paid .33 cents for the little flowers.

These photos were not planned and you will see why. Newspaper hanging out and a....

cat {Clovis} there on the left soaking up a sun beam. I had to move fast but quietly to not alarm him.

The wire basket behind him is vintage and a recent purchase from an estate sale also.

I bought two of these large green wire baskets.

  Clovis is squinting...bless him.

Now I am off to place many other items on consignment. Yes, I have crossed the line and I sell my junk finds now. It was bound to happen. I cannot keep all these things I find.

An Estate Sale Story

An estate sale.

At the home of a deceased 

Antique/Collectible dealer.

Her name was Dorothy.

Fenton, Wedgewood, Limoge, and all the Royals were there.

Paintings, lawn decor, and tools. The kitchen contained loads of jewelry. The fine china and such was in the garage. There was a Christmas closet...I did not have time to look in there.

An out building full of display cases and one dollar items and silver plate.

Two other out buildings full of glassware and  boxes.

I did not bring my camera {please pinch me}.

There was a huge old garden gate,  a trellis and an arbor.

A doll and purse room in a whole separate building next to the main house.

Tents...oh there were tents for what the sellers said was "garage sale" items. Packed in boxes. I went through many boxes and found better than garage sale items.

There was a gold and pink French chair that I wanted but Joe rolled his eyes until I nearly smacked him.

Have I mentioned the prices were wonderful and they were willing to deal with you on  price?

What did we get?

Cloches my friends and lots of them.

Five to be exact {one not shown}.

One is terribly large! {in first image}

The three in the plastic container I paid a dollar for total. That is .33 cents a piece! The one in the foreground above Joe paid one dollar.

Craziness I know.

They were under a tent and covered in pollen.

I will show what I did with that metal flower thing later darlings.

Dorothy had so many items the estate sale company has been preparing this house for the sale since January.

We were at the house for two hours and did not see everything. Rats.


Joe bought a wrench. He said it was a girlie sale and it was.

The Heart of The Home

The adorable Sheila is having a Cupboard Party at Note Songs.

Which presents an issue for me.

I have no cupboards at the yellow house other than some kitchen cabinets which are not pretty.

That leaves the mega mega bar.

We could land a helicopter on this bar or perform a autopsy...just kidding { bad nurses humor}.

Underneath the huge bar I have much storage capacity.

Three cabinet and three drawers hold a lot of kitchen supplies.

Which I will not bore you with.

The bar end goes to infinity......

That's another of my old bread bowls flanked by some blue pottery I collect. Joe bought the bread bowl for one of my birthdays.

Yesterday was our anniversary and we had a fabulous weekend together.
