An unlikely title at best.
I am tying photos together that were taken on the same day.
A doctor's appointment and some thrift stores got me off track yesterday.
The Goodwill store near our yellow house is closing, blasphemy I feel.
They lost their lease and all items are now 50% off so I was there for a while.
The owls were at the flea market on Sunday afternoon.
The owl above is an ice bucket.
These painted white would work better for me.
He had a table of larger owls that were just too big.
He wanted me to buy an owl and not take photos.
Be proud I bought not one item from any vendor.
The house with the huge camellia shrub is next to Sesame Lodge from my last post.
Camellias grow ever so slowly so this one must be as old as this Craftsman house.
We have two camellia's that are just about to bloom at the yellow house.
We can't wait to see the flowers.

The Campfire Marshmallow Tin is from my area of the country - MILWAUKEE!*!*! I've never seen a "top" like that... Looks like they turned it into a Marshmallow Roaster!*!*! AND - What a "hoot" those Owls are all grouped together...

Beautiful photos Olive... my favorite is the old Campfire marshmallows tin... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteI love the spring flowers. I am so ready. Those are my favorites. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteYour photo of the collection of owls is very charming; they look wonderful in a group. My post on my blog today shows my white camellia bush, tho at nine feet tall someone pointed out it is a tree :)
ReplyDeleteIt's an owl invasion, Olive! I had no idea they had become so popular again until my daughter expressed an interest in them. I just painted two white that I found at the local flea and antique mart for her.
ReplyDeleteLove the owls - my MIL used to collect them - then destroyed them in a fit of anger.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the Goodwill. Didn't think they shut down. OWLS! Ann
ReplyDeleteDrop jaw!! I am flabbergasted over the bush! like pink snow on the ground.
ReplyDeleteNOW, I dont think I could have passed the ice bucket by...that is if the price was right!
Looks like you had a good trip!
Flowering shrubs...I'll be patient!
ReplyDeleteLove all the owls. We are fans around here. Love the way the camelia petals are laying all around the pansies. Pretty!!
ReplyDeleteThe petals all around the pansy's sure made for a pretty picture..
ReplyDeletehugs from Savannah. Cherry
hey are ya'll near Highway 341 we are doing the Peaches to Beaches yard sale again this year how about ya'll.
I can't believe how everything is blooming so early. We haven't really had a winter this year.
ReplyDeleteI think the marshmallow tin is really cool and the flowers are just beautiful! The poor confused daffs are up a good 4" here in Philly, I hope Mother Nature is kind:@)
ReplyDeleteAll the petals fallen on the ground make it look so colorful with the pansys. I wish I could see and smell some wonderful flowers now. I am so ready for Spring.Smiles to you, Susie(She Junks)
ReplyDeleteCherry-we are not near hwy 341 so no fun for us.
ReplyDeleteHi Olive! That is one unique ice bucket and what an invasion of owls! Very cute! That camellia shrub is gorgeous, what lovely blooms! What a bummer to lose the Goodwill near you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful camellias. Yes, the owls would make a great family with a unified color.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!! Camillias are one of my favorite and yes that must be a really old one! Ours is still so small and is about 8 years old and the other 5. We had one bloom already...early...and the other one is full of blooms. Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteWow, your blog looks terrific! Love the header. Why didn't you buy all those Owls? Painted white and in the garden they would be awesome…..Great photos. I love the pic in the truck. I hate it when I love a store and they have to close.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening, or what's left of it.

Hi Olive! Oh, I love those cute owls. My mother used to collect owls and they were spread out all over her house! Love those Camellias!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Fabulous owls. I'm pinning for my daughter. She loves owls. Too bad about your Goodwill. We lost a neighborhood thrift store recently and I truly miss it.
ReplyDeleteHey Olive....LOVELY to 'see' you as always....!!
ReplyDeleteYour 'critical mass' comment had me chuckling 'cause that's the VERY reason I spent TWO whole days in there tidying up....hahahaha....!
Your photos are YUMMY & I'm inclined to agree some white paint would go nicely....I've found a couple of small owls recently that I haven't been able to part with....I wonder if 'critical mass' will become a factor here.....hahahaha....**wink**....!
Hope you're having a FAB week....!
Cheers,
Tamarah :o)
Looks like you found some nice treasures. We have a camelia bush next to our porch and it is a slow growing and slow blooming plant for us. I expected it to be fragrant for some reason, but it's not. We planted it when we first moved here 16 yrs ago. It's big now, but never just FULL of blooms. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a collection of items, love that Owl ice bucket, but no owls in my collection, that old tin for marshmallows is really nice~ but the Best is the Flowers, I can hardly wait for spring time, still waiting on Our Winter here in Michigan... I know it has to be coming at some point {Knock on Wood!} Have a great one...
ReplyDeleteCheryl
I have the same marshmallow tin! You found some great items!
ReplyDeleteLove your crockery jug and the wicker covered bottle. Great finds! I love the small wicker covered "medicine"(whisky) bottles, but they are scarce as hen's teeth. I see them in decorating magazines but never have seen them in an antique store.
